Villa Elia is a beautiful property that was originally built as a family home giving it the space, level of comfort and ambiance not normally found in a purpose-built holiday home.
The villa stands in four acres of lovely grounds at the end of a private country lane and is not overlooked. Surrounded by lawns, flowering shrubs, pine and citrus trees, it provides a peaceful, private and secluded oasis - yet has the convenience of being only a five minute drive from huge sandy beaches and a vast selection of restaurants, tavernas and shops. The sunny main terrace leads onto the pool terrace with its substantial infinity pool, shady pergola, drinks cooler, and stunning views. To the side of the villa is another terrace with a tented roof and full size dining table and chairs - the perfect place for eating with its fabulous backdrop of the bay on one side and the harbour and Zante Town on the other. There is also a third, raised terrace in the garden.
Inside the property is a spacious open plan living area with a large, comfortably furnished lounge, satellite flat screen television, DVD player and music system (bring your iPod as there is a hook up via the amplifier!). You’ll also find some homely touches like bookshelves loaded with books, a selection of board games and a great choice of films on DVD. There’s even a wi fi connection. The farmhouse style kitchen has a table that seats six and lots of storage, plus two fridge freezers, a full sized oven and a microwave.
All of the bedrooms are roomy and air conditioned. The master bedroom has a double bed, separate walk-in wardrobe and en suite bathroom complete with wet room and shower. Bedroom two has full sized bunk beds (suitable for adults or children) and a single bed (which allows more flexible sleeping arrangements) and a built-in wardrobe, with access through French windows onto a terrace at the back of the villa. The third bedroom has a double bed and a built-in wardrobe with access via French windows to the terrace. Both these bedrooms share the adjacent bathroom with its full sized bath and shower. All of the main windows throughout the house are fitted with mosquito blinds and shutters.
Elia really is a home from home, and comes fully equipped with everything you could need – including the kitchen sink!
Zakynthos is proud to be the first Marine Park protected area in the Mediterranean due to its beaches being the chosen nesting place of the caretta caretta (turtles). As a result, all development in the Park is forbidden, allowing Elia to enjoy wonderful solitude whilst at the same time benefiting from the convenience of nearby beaches and resorts.
Zakynthos, or Zante as it is more commonly known, is also referred to as the ‘Flower of the Ionian’ in recognition of the island’s exceptional beauty. The locals are renowned for their true Greek hospitality, which no doubt accounts for why so many holidaymakers return to the island time and time again. Geographically the island is the most southern of the six Ionian Islands and is located off western mainland Greece. It has a Mediterranean climate with long hot summers and warm wet winters (making it very green and fertile). The capital Zakynthos Town with its shops, museums, restaurants, bars and outdoor cinema, is architecturally extremely attractive and full of the influence and culture of its Italian ancestors.

I cannot recommend it highly enough.
The best villa I have stayed in, in more than 15 years of visiting Greece. An absolutely perfect location. If you have ever dreamed of staying in a lovely villa set in your own hilltop grounds bathed in Greek sunshine, with fabulous views and total privacy, then this is the place for you!
A spacious, comfortable villa with room to wander around inside and out. The huge paved terraces and large, clean pool were superb - and inside we had everything we could have needed, including a great selection of books! I understand that Villa Elia was originally the owner's home, and it shows. Far more comfortable and better equipped than you would normally expect to find. We were reluctant to leave it to explore the rest of the island or go down to the beach.
Would love to go back again!
Fabulous Villa
Just wanted to say thanks very much for villa rental.
We had a fantastic break. The villa and surroundings are fabulous!
A most enjoyable stay

I am writing to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at Villa Elia. The villa was lovely and what few minor problems/questions we had were very quickly sorted out by Cathy and Bob who were extremely helpful. It is a splendid location, possibly the best we have enjoyed in many years of villa holidays and we felt so comfortable and had everything to hand that we didn't travel far. We did manage to do a bit of walking before the sun got too hot and we found the pool an enormous benefit.
Many thanks for arranging the car hire for us too. Everything ran very smoothly.
Just Perfect
"A truly gorgeous Villa! We literally couldn't have wished for a better location and property. Bob and Kath were so welcoming, and were really helpful and willing to help whenever we needed. It was just the most perfect holiday.
Far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel secluded and 'Special' without feeling alienated. Sea views from both sides. Amazing!
Exceeded our expectations

We had a great relaxing holiday at villa Elia. We were met by Bob and Cath at the airport and within 10 mins we were in the villa and starting to relax.
The villa exceeded our expectations with uninterrupted views over Kalamaki and Laganas Bay in one direction and Zakynthos town in the other direction.
This has been our third visit to the island so we knew what to expect of the island and the people exceptionally friendly and warm.
The pool was the best we have had in any villa we have stayed in. The location of the villa is ideal with it being set on the hillside but only 5 mins away from beaches, shops and restaurants. The villa is in an ideal position to explore the South of the island.
One big bonus for us was that when the weather was too hot our youngest could go inside and watch 'normal' tv and for our teenagers listening to radio 1 while outside. It kept them happy.
Another very good idea was the variety of books, cd's and dvd's available.
All in all the villa was superb in an amazing location and i would heartily recommend this as a great holiday destination.
thanks very much for sharing it with us.
