Chipping House is a wonderfully bright and spacious detached Georgian house by the market square in Wotton Under Edge, in the Gloucestershire countryside. The house simply drips with character and charm, including high ceilings, large rooms, beautiful furniture and wooden floors. The master bedroom suite offers an emperor double sleigh bed, en-suite and dressing area, and there is a further double with en-suite, two twin rooms and a lovely family suite incorporating a single bed and steps leading up to a further two single beds and an en-suite. The beautiful sitting room has a piano and a woodburner, just right for carols at Christmas or simply magical all year round. While presented to a very high standard, this property remains intrinsically child friendly, with a second sitting room which offers, along with an extensive library of maps and reference books, a child's piano, rocking horse and dolls house. There is also a study, and WiFi access. The fabulous family garden completes the picture, with a large lawn, summerhouse, croquet set and ball games. A very special property, perfect for that special family get-together.

What a wonderful house - highly recommended
My abiding memory of Chipping House is its ability to offer something for all ages. The house has six bedrooms and four bathrooms, which was great for all three generations of our family gathering. And wow, how it was equipped with so many useful things - shoe polish, sewing kit etc etc. The owner has been very thoughtful. He/she has enriched the house with toys such as a rocking horse and wooden dolls house that our children adored. I took lots of books to read but there was no need - there were so many there to choose from. The kitchen was packed with cooking things - I even baked a cake, using the cookery books and equipment.
The house is ideally located fronting a market square and so is handy for the shops. There were so many walks in the surrounding countryside. I was impressed with the facilities in Wotton-under-Edge, including an Arts Centre, a swimming pool and a cinema, all just yards from the front door.
Our family will be back ...
