Tucked away on the gently sloping hills of the Epynt is a quirky and cosy 17th century stone barn conversion. The cottage itself offers plenty of character with antique furniture and unusual features. The views too are spectacular, but its the outside space here that sets this little cottage apart. Dafydds Cottage boasts its own lake for swimming and fishing and a delightful summer house in which to dry off, read and enjoy a glass of something. Dafydds and the owners home are set in 22 acres of meadow, bluebell woods and pony paddocks with a brook running through, stabling and a pond. Children will enjoy meeting the friendly ponies in the meadow next to the house and guests enjoy free fishing on the lake and the use of the stabling and grazing should they wish to bring their own horse. There are miles of superb riding and walking straight from the door - plenty to keep anyone busy.
The quirky and comfortable Dafyyds Cottage sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. The kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and use of a tumble dryer if required. There is a large pantry with the original stone slab for keeping things cool. The downstairs cloakroom is a useful spot for drying clothes and also has a toilet with the original 'Thunderbox Cistern' and hand basin. The hallway showcases a large Sixties-style record player with radio whilst the sitting room provides comfortable dark green leather sofa and chairs, antique furniture, a coal-effect electric fire and a TV with basic Sky and a DVD player.
Up the handcrafted oak stairs is a small balcony area with an oak desk, great for any visitors that need to catch up on a bit of work during their stay. The master bedroom has an impressively carved Manuka wood King sized bed and spectacular views over the lake and across the valley. The second bedroom has twin beds with views over the paddocks and across farmland. The bathroom has a bath, with separate shower, a toilet and a hand basin.
Immediately surrounding the barn is a garden with patio, garden furniture and a BBQ.

recommended Travel the 6 miles and explore the bustling market town of Brecon. There is the picturesque canal, alongside which sits the acclaimed Theatr Brycheiniog providing a theatre auditorium which plays hosts to many well-known acts, an art gallery and renowned restaurant with terrace. A ten minute walk from the canal brings you to the centre of Brecon with it's mixture of well-known shops and small boutiques and gift shops. There are plenty of cafes, restaurant and pubs to discover and a small cinema. |

If you enjoy a round of golf then Cradoc Golf Course, just 3 miles up the road is a must. Named Wales' Golf Club of the Year in 2005 the course is an 18-hole parkland course and takes advantage of the rolling Mid Wales hills. There is a welcoming club house serving good food and the views from the course must be some of the best in Wales.
