'Rosemary Cottage' A chic, tranquil 3 bedroom getaway

Description

The open plan kitchen/dining room is well equipped for all your self-catering needs with a built in double oven, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer. The sunny utility which houses the washing machine and separate drier leads through to a downstairs shower room and wc.

The dining area has a long farmhouse pine table which seats six comfortably. A pine dresser holds all the crockery and glassware.

The large living room has lots of books, games, puzzles and DVD’s to enjoy, a TV with built in DVD and Freeview and a separate CD player to play your favourite music on. After an exhausting day enjoying your holiday, collapse onto the huge squashy sofas while someone else puts the kettle on!

Although this self-catering accommodation has full oil fired central heating, on cooler nights, during your holiday, the new efficient wood burner will warm the cottage quickly. All self catering holiday accommodation is non-smoking.

Three bedrooms, one double with double bed (5’) ample wardrobe space and dressing table. Two twin bedded rooms (one with beds 5’8” long, suitable for up to mid-teens) and one with standard twin beds. A large bathroom with bath, hand held shower, washbasin and wc.

To the front of the holiday cottage is a pretty walled garden with access to a lockable garage for storing bicycles, bodyboards, golf clubs etc and to the back of the cottage is a delightful raised decked patio, complete with table and chairs surrounded by a well stocked cottage garden herb border. Sun loungers, deckchairs and a b-b-q are also provided.

A short walk cutting across the playground in the lane will take you to the centre of the village where the Post Office/Village stores can be found. Extremely well stocked these stores will have all your holiday essentials. The St Maybn Inn offers pub food every night and has a garden at the back. The lovely old church is well worth a visit.

The North Cornwall area is renowned for its fascinating mix of dramatic rugged coastline, spectacular sandy beaches, sheltered bays, fishing and moorland villages. Whether you enjoy walking, cycling, playing golf, surfing, sailing visiting historic houses and magnificent gardens you can do it all in this beautiful region of the county, not forgetting eating and drinking at some of the country’s finest restaurants.

The Royal Cornwall Show held every year in early June takes place at Wadebridge just a ten minute drive from the cottage. Regular festivals, parades and regattas are a feature of Cornwall life, check out www.visitcornwall.com for what’s happening in the month/week that you would like to visit.

The National Trust has many properties in the region, the closest is Lanhydrock with Trerice and Cotehele a short drive away. www.nationaltrust.org.uk

For gardens lovers, the extraordinary Eden Project www.edenproject.com is about 40 mins away and The Lost Gardens of Heligan near St Austell about half an hours drive. Eden also has wonderful cycling trails around the old china clay pits, so don’t forget to bring your bike.

Along with the famous Camel Trail which offers easy level cycling, the lesser known Coast to Coast www.chycor.co.uk cycle path from Devoran to Portreath follows the old mineral tramways and provides slightly more challenging terrain and takes you through some beautiful scenery and small villages.

Water skiing and sailing lessons can both be found in Rock and Padstow, which is a easy 20 minute drive from the cottage. Try cycling from Wadebridge to Padstow, secure your bike, hop on the ferry across to Rock for lunch, and then return by ferry for the cycle back to Wadebridge and a well earned cream tea! ... read more »hide »
