Description

In the heart of the village of Egloshayle, Pippins Cottage is a detached traditional stone property with a walled garden, south-facing patio and off-road parking. A pleasant 10-15 minute level walk alongside the River Camel brings you to the traditional market town of Wadebridge. Here you will find a wide selection of shops, individual boutiques, restaurants and a cinema. Wadebridge is also at the heart of the Camel Trail a scenic traffic-free route following the banks of the River Camel popular with both walkers and cyclists. Only a short drive away are the beautiful beaches and the South West Coastal Path (a National Trail affording some breathtaking scenery).

The nearest beach can be found at Rock, which is approx 6 miles or about a 10 minute drive from the cottage. The popular surfing beaches of Polzeath and Daymer are approximately 8 miles away.

Pippins Cottage is ideally located for four excellent golf courses: St Enedoc at Rock 6 miles. Lanhydrock near Bodmin 6 miles, Roserrow near Polzeath 7 miles and Trevose 11 miles.

Cycling and walking on the Camel Trail, which winds through some of Cornwall's most beautiful and little known countryside part of which has been designed an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty 1 mile away. Rick Stein's Cookery School 8 miles away.

The town of Wadebridge offers a selection of shops including 2 butchers, 2 bakers, a greengrocer, fishmonger, delicatessen, 2 supermarkets, 2 chemists, individual clothes shops and selection of cafes and restaurants. There is a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool, gym and squash courts. Outdoor tennis courts and children’s' play park are a very short walk away. Local leisure activities	a stone's throw from the banks of the River Camel, within walking distance of the bustling market town of Wadebridge. The town today offers a wide variety of attractions suitable for visitors of all ages. Individual shops, riverside walks, bicycle hire, and a large selection of places to eat and drink catering for all tastes. Wadebridge has a leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool, a children's play park, bowling green, tennis courts, as well as a cinema. The Camel Trail is a real highlight of the town, which is a 17-mile long traffic-free route for both walkers and cyclists. The 5.5 mile route to Padstow follows the shoreline of the estuary, and is incredibly scenic. Along the way you will find several places to stop to enjoy either a bit of birdwatching, or just to take in the spectacular view. The nearest beach is at Rock (5 miles away), and is good for water-based activities such as sailing, waterskiing, and boat and fishing trips. Try your hand at surfing at Polzeath beach and or watch the kiteboarders at Daymar Bay, both of which are within a 10 minute drive of the cottage. The pretty fishing village of Padstow, now synonymous with Rick Stein, is only 9 miles away by road, or for more scenic and leisurely route take the shorter 5.5 mile walk or cycle along the Camel Trail. In such a convenient place
This is our second visit to Pippins Cottage and it is still exciting to stay in such a brilliant and cosy place. The house is in such a convenient place, near to some fantastic beaches (Polzeath) and great places to eat.

The seven hour drive was worth it!
Simple yet stylish, this beautifully renovated old shop has all the comforts you could wish for to feel at home. Even the beds are comfy, and I'm fussy about beds!! It's the perfect location for exploring the area as it's not far off the beaten track.
