Situated just above the hamlet of Barboluesaz, up a short but steep road, followed by a fairly steep climb up a couple of flights of steps, you’ll find Chalet Rose Blanche in a wonderful secluded position perched on an idyllic hillside with a fantastic view of the Dents du Midi across the valley. It is a 3 year old, fully equipped 4 double bedroom (plus 1 children’s bedroom), 3 bathroom chalet (one with Jacuzzi bath) complete with state of the art kitchen, full length balcony, open fireplace, stunning picture window in the dining area and furnished with modern and tasteful decor. There is underfloor central heating keeping you warm and cosy in the winter as well as a wonderful 'drying' utility room ideal for leaving ski boots overnight to dry out. The south facing full length deck is perfect for peace and relaxation in the sunshine looking out over the mountains on the other side of the valley. In summer you can hear the trickling of the stream that runs along the edge of the property interspersed with the sound of cow bells tinkling in the distance.
From the chalet it is only a short drive down to the main telecabine, which links into the whole Villars-Les Diablerets area or an easy one hour drive to other nearby resorts such as Verbier (4 Valleys) and Champery (Portes du Soleil).
A fifteen minute walk will take you to the nearby village of Barboleusaz with restaurants, supermarket, bakery and ski hire shops and from here you can take the tram to Villars to enjoy the numerous cafes and shops or take the mountain train up to Brettaye where there are kilometers of walks and bike paths in the summer as well as skiing in the winter.
Other interesting places to visit within the area are Bex and the salt mines in the valley, local vineyards and thermal baths of Lavey-les-bains plus many more attractions along the lakeside which is only a half hour drive away. Montreux, Chateau Chillon, Lausanne are also easily reached by car and a trip across the lake in one of the old paddle steamers comes highly recommended. For the more adventurous guests a trip to Gruyere, Chamonix, Mont Blanc, Geneva and Bern to name but a few are all within reach for a longer day trip. The opportunities are endless!
Please note:
Whilst the road to the chalet is snow cleared in winter it is essential that all cars have snow chains or are 4 x 4 particularly when there is snow lying.
Even though there is a handrail up the side of the steps to the chalet, access may be difficult for some elderly people during winter when the snow is lying. Young children will also need supervision at all times going up and down the steps.
