A Victorian seaside town with a Mediterranean feel, Ventnor is one of the sunniest spots on the island. It is built on a series of terraces beneath St. Bonchurch Down with the town's roads zigzagging down to the sea past the beautifully planted cascade.
Over the past years Ventnor has become a chic resort with the introduction of new wine bars, fine dining, and fabulous properties. The esplanade has a sand and shingle beach idea for swimming, sunbathing, or walking. Adjacent to the beach, you will find pubs and cafes who offer locally caught sea food. You can also watch the boat leave from the harbour and return with the day's catch from the apartment.
The Isle of Wight is a diamond shaped island in the English Channel 5 miles from the South Coast of Britain separated from the mainland by The Solent. Recommend by car from Southampton via Red Funnel Ferries to East Cowes or from Portsmouth via Wightlink Ferries to Fishbourne. By public transport, there is a train from London Waterloo to Shanklin that meets up with Wightlink FastCat for solent crossing. Approximate journey time 2.5 hours. Taxis are from Shanklin, 6 km.
