Description
Detached 3-bed villa, own pool (which can be heated) and gardens in the exclusive resort of Vale do Lobo. BBQ area and gardens that are sunny and shaded. Completely and stylishly refurbished and modernised inside and out. Air-conditioning/heating as required. Family friendly with toys, games and Sky TV. Overlooking first fairway of Vale do Lobo's internationally-renowned Royal Golf Course. Beach 5 minutes walk. Royal Spa, Barringtons health club and tennis academy very close. Within easy walking distance of a selection of fantastic restaurants at the Praca in Vale do Lobo. 5 minutes walk to the health centre and supermarket at the entrance to the resort.
This is a no smoking property. There is air-conditioning throughout at no extra charge. There is a safe for added security. There are a cot and a highchair at the property permanently. We have 4 children aged 8, 6, 1 and newborn so have tried to make the villa as child friendly as possible.
Accessibility
The property is all on one level (there are steps to the roof terrace, but these are outside).
Outside
Private pool, for sole use of guests is approx 10m x 4m with stepped access. The pool can be heated at an additional cost. The plot is 1,100 sq.m, and provides gardens all around the property. There is outdoor furniture, BBQ furniture and sunbeds by the pool. Automatic gates ensure that the property is secure (and small children can not escape!). From the roof terrace there are enhanced views over the 1st fairway of the Royal Golf Course. The rear garden has a gate between it and the pool area, and so can be made safe so that children can not access the pool but still play outside. There is a small slide and other children's toys in the rear garden for guests to use.
Coast/Beach
5 mins walk to Vale do Lobo beach, this is a beautiful sandy beach where parasols and sun beds can be rented. There are also a selection of bars and restaurants for lunchtime snacks. There is car parking near the beach should you need to drive (children + beach = lots to take!!). Other beaches are easily accessible by short car journey.
Golf
The internationally renowned Royal and Ocean Golf courses are 2 minutes away. Many other golf courses are within easy reach, eg Quinta do Lago, Vilasol, Pinheiros Altos, Vilamoura.
Special interest holidays
The Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy has 14 courts, of which ten are all-weather and four synthetic, as well as a mini-tennis and paddle tennis court. One of the largest tennis facilities in Portugal, it attracts national and international tennis fixtures, including an annual ATP Seniors Tour competition, the Vale do Lobo Grand Champions, and the Portuguese Ladies´ Open. A gym, swimming pool, pro shop and two restaurants overlooking the courts complete the facilities. The Tennis Academy runs a busy year-round programme of individual and group coaching, tournaments and social events, for members and holidaymakers.
Pinetrees Horse Riding is a short drive away and provides horse riding for riders of all levels from the age of 4 upwards.
Travel
Faro airport is 20 mins drive away. Car hire recommended, although not essential.
Distances
Everything you need including beach, restaurants, golf courses, tennis courts, bank, supermarket, newsagent, health club are available on site in Vale do Lobo - so you may not want to leave during your stay! However, Almancil and Loule are both 5 - 10 mins drive. Vilamoura - with it's large marina is about 15 mins drive.
Further details
There are banking and post office facilities on VdL. The Royal Spa is a 2 minute walk of the villa with a wide range of treatments available (perfect for 'golf widows'!) The Praca has a selection of fantastic restaurants - and can cater for most tastes - from beach snacks through to Michelin starred quality meals. During the summer months there is live music at the Praca every evening. It is well worth booking restaurants in advance during peak season. There is also a newsagents which sells English newspapers and other holiday requirements (we have bought armbands there many times when we have forgotten ours!) There is a children's club and a mini-golf course, both payable locally. There are lots of things to explore right along the Algarve in particular our children love Zoomarine - a water park / animal park about 40 mins drive away. This has various shows to watch, animals to look at, a swimming area and for an extra cost - you can even swim with dolphins! The Aqua show water park, only 5 minutes drive away, is an excellent day out for all ages. Horse riding and water sports available locally. Baby sitting service can be arranged if booked at least 24 hours in advance - payable locally.

Excellent family friendly property
We have had a number of fabulous stays at this villa, which suits our young family. The location is perfect - within an easy walk of the beach and Praca. The fact the pool area can be secured by gates so the children can play in the back garden and not access the pool gives great peace of mind. The maid service is excellent and Maria is very friendly. We look forward to returning in 2012.
September 2011
We had a really great time at this villa in September 2011 - helped by amazing weather! The fact we could walk to lots of great bars and restaurants meant no arguments about who was driving!!! The beach is amazing, and being within walking distance was great. We hired a car so we could explore more of the Algarve - but would have been quite happy in Vale do Lobo for the whole week. A great holiday - thank you!!
Lovely property, great location
Had our third stay here in September with our toddler (now nearly 2). Has suited us from baby stage and continues to suit us as she gets older. Well equipped with a secure pool area. Sky & wifi definitely a bonus. Great location for beach & restaurants - we have hired a car each time and hardly ever used it apart! Highly recommended, we look forward to returning in the future.
Home from Home
If you are looking for a fantastic villa with all home comforts, Spacious, clean, well maintained and set in an ideal location, this is it.We have been three times and will be going again. The villa is ideal for a family or group who like space, excellent BBQ and outdoor area and for a lazy night in DVD's and TV. Local amenities are close by with great resturants and facilities.
Fantastic accommodation in a very exclusive area
6 of us enjoyed a week in the villa for our summer break, there is everything you could possibly need at the villa, the pool was lovely, the rooms were immaculate and the cleaner was most helpful when we asked about the location and surrounding areas. Amenities within walking distance and local cheap supermarket within close driving distance as we had hired a car. A short walk to the beautiful beach too. My husband spotted a couple of famous football players while we were there. Well worth a visit.
Great for a retired couple
Despite the mixed weather, we had a lovely time in Vale do Lobo. The property has every convenience, so it was a pleasure to be around the villa, enjoying relaxing round the pool and eating out in the sunshine. The short walk down to the restaurants from the villa was enough to feel you had walked off a few calories without feeling it was too much effort! The beach is great, like others along the Algarve, and at the time we were there, it was quite quiet. We hired a car from the airport, which was convenient for the short trip to the villa, but also useful for exploring the Algarve. We could recommend a trip to Cape St Vincent at the westernmost tip of the Algarve. We also enjoyed going into the Monchique mountains. We also travelled east to the Spanish border. It's quite flat there and we enjoyed cycling and going over the river on the ferry to the Spanish side. Vale do Lobo is very well situated for exploring the area, but if that's not your thing, it's also a great place to chill.
