Directions
Directions: From Geneva airport car rental follow green (motorway) signs for Lausanne and keep on this road to Lausanne (about 40 mins). At Lausanne the motorway splits; do not come off motorway but follow signs for Simplon/ St Bernard/ Montreux following the lake around its northern coast. Stay on this motorway past Vevey, Montreux and Villenueve. The road drops down and follows the valley (Rhone) floor. Come off at junction 18 marked Monthey Nord. Overall it is about 1hour 15 mins to this junction from Geneva airport. Stick to the motorway speed limits – the road is riddled with speed cameras! Turn right off the motorway ramp and follow the signs for Val D’Illiez and Les Portes du Soleil – it is signposted all the way now. You will travel past Monthey (big supermarket, Coop, by roundabout on the way before you head up into the mountains) and then follow a windy road up towards Champery. Once you get past Troistorrents look for a sign on left hand side for Les Bain de Val D’Illiez. It is about 15 mins from the motorway exit to this turning. Turn left and follow the steep winding road down to the Thermes Parc development. At the bottom of the hill follow the road round past the hotel on your left. The rental office is on your right opposite the hotel if you should need it for questions/ problems etc. The first chalet building you come to is Dent Blanche.
