Grange House, a stone farmhouse built around 1890, sits amongst 3 acres of meadow and retains much of the original character whilst having every modern convenience. It is located in idyllic countryside, dotted with sheep, at the foot of Buckden Pike in the secret dale of Walden.
The picturesque village of West Burton, 4 miles down the dale, still retains a village green and and school, the village shop, butchers shop and local pub serving food.It is also home to the Cat Pottery and the beautiful Cauldren Waterfall.
This is an ideal base to explore the stunning scenery of the glorious, unspoilt Yorkshire Dales National Park including Aysgarth Falls, Hardraw Force and Semerwater. The busy market towns of Leyburn and Hawes and the historic centres with castles of Middleham, Richmond and Castle Bolton are within easy reach. If you fancy a change from cooking for yourselves, there are ample opportunities to sample Yorkshire produce and hospitality, ranging from pubs, restaurants and cafes serving from the traditional to the exotic.
The spacious accommodation has been continually upgraded during past years, with good quality fittings, furnishings and sumptuous bed linen throughout, and for which we are delighted to have received a Gold Award from Visit Britains assessor for Quality in Tourism.
Grange House comfortably sleeps 7 people, with a double bedroom on the ground floor, and a large ensuite bedroom, a twin room, and a single room and house bathroom on the first floor. An additional shower room with W.C. is conveniently sited on the ground floor.
The breakfast kitchen is fully fitted out with a wide range of quality appliances, including an oil fired Aga.
A recent refurbishment of the large lounge adjacent to the dining room has included a wood burning stove for those cooler evenings.
All rooms are light and spacious with open aspects from the windows onto the surrounding countryside, and have double glazing and central heating throughout
Shared use, along with the owners, of an adjoining utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available.
Outside there is a front garden, a rear garden with table and seating, and to the side is a large garth with pond and trampoline.
We are sorry we are unable to accept pets.
Parking is available for one car on the front forecourt with additional parking for up to two cars in the adjoining garth
