The Courtyard
The courtyard is in the grounds of Strathern Manor, an Edwardian gentleman's residence. The house has it's own small patio garden to the rear, and the use of mature communal gardens, canopied by giant cedar trees.
It is perfectly situated on the edge of Newcastle with views over pasture, mountains, and the sea.
For the active there is walking, horse riding, mountain biking, fishing and climbing in and near the renowned Tollymore & Castlewellan Forest Parks. The Courtyard is also only 2km from Royal County Down Golf Courses, and the new luxury Slieve Donard Spa.

This house worked so well for us for nearly a month. So many things to do around Newcastle, and we were perfectly situated. Easily fit our family of 5 (three children under 7). Comfortable, practical and relaxing. Definitely recommend a stay here!
My family and I had a lovely stay. The house was well equipped and provided everything we needed, set in beautiful grounds. So much better than staying in a hotel, would highly recommend
This well kept house had all we wanted. It was close to the mountains, and the seaside, cosy and well equipped, had lovely quiet shared grounds with good parking, and the owner was very helpful.
The location and grounds are superb. It gave us easy access to all the outdoor activities on the coast and in the forest parks, and a quiet space to retreat to in the evenings. The house itself is very fresh and well equipped. As well as the large communal grounds, there's a small courtyard garden out the back, handy for taking morning coffee (and storing bicycles)!
I don't think it would suit more than 6 adults for a week's holiday, but for a weekend it might be able to take one or two extra ( I suppose that's down to the owner)
