Theoule sur Mer has an exceptional beautiful area with a local picturesque village, a small port, sandy beaches and red mountains with unspoiled nature. 40 min. from Nice airport and just a few minutes from the exclusive shops and restaurants in Cannes, with festivals and events happening. The villa is placed on a hill side which gives you a fantastic view overlooking the sea with Isles. There is wonderful walking in the hills just above the village. Monaco, St. Raphael and Grasse are within easy reach. Ferries run daily to St. Tropez from Cannes and boat trips run along the coast. You can enjoy innumerable leisure activities.
Villa with Character and Spectacular View
We recently spent an enjoyable holiday in this villa. It is old and full of character and charm with spectacular views of the sea from the terrace and bedroom balconies.
We enjoyed watching the sun rise over the sea from our bedroom – spectacular. At night you can lay in bed and watch the moon drift across the clear sky.
The garden is mature and has nice areas with tables and chairs and places to sunbathe and also plenty of shade.
The villa is situated more in La Trayas than Theoule and is about 15 minutes from the sandy beaches of Cannes where there is plenty of free parking. The drive to Cannes along the Corniche is beautiful with views of the sea, ports, etc.
There are numerous local beaches amongst the coves of the coastline – pebbles, but beautifully clear water and fairly quiet. The area is very beautiful, quiet and tranquil.
We were worried that the villa is close to the railway however the trains could not be seen and they did not bother us at all.
There is a small local shop a 5 minute walk away. We found this useful to buy fresh bread and supplies. The nearest large supermarket is in Mandelieu near Cannes.
The owners live nearby and were very friendly and helpful. We did not have any problems however we were confident that if there were any the owners would resolve them swiftly – it is their home during winter months so they are keen to look after it. They were more than happy to tell us about the area and places to go and give any advice they could. They were very welcoming.
We will certainly be returning and have already booked for next year.
Extremely charming place & perfect view
We stayed in this house for one week in August. The villa is located in an exclusive residential area in Le Trayas, Théoule area. We have spent an extremely enjoyable and relaxing time in this villa. There are two (as far as we know) small beautiful beaches in walking distance (pebbles as usual) and the beach of Trayas accessible in a few minutes by car (or maybe 20-30 min. walking). For restaurants or shopping you will need a car.
We so far have stayed at many comparable houses and found this one really outstanding for its charme, its location and the beautiful view. This house is in significantly better condition as we usually would expect, especially concerning cleanliness. The owners seem to stay themselves here from time to time, this probably makes the big difference. The owners were very helpful and always reachable. We did feel at home here and this rarely is the case in a holiday home.
This is an old house (fin-de-siècle) and its original charme has been conserved cautiously. It seems to have seen extensive refurbishment recently, however without . Windows and shutters are obviously original with original old mechanism which is accordingly stiff but fully functional. The furnishing is fairly comfortable, the photos give a preatty realistic impression. We found the kitchen very well equipped with all necessery dishes and kitchenware and large fridge and rather new stove.
We can well recommend this house for families with small children. One baby cot incl. bedding and baby chair was provided. No pool and no overly dangerous corners. Our 4y old daughter loved her room with fanlight and both playing on the terrace and in the garden.
There is an old Thürmer piano in the living room which we played regularly. It would benefit from new tuning but is well playable.
The stunning view over the coastline from most rooms and from the spacious terrace was a real highlight. The master bed room at the S/W corner is stronhly heating up and very warm during the night. This room has a mobile A/C unit.
There is a railroad track passing nearby. It is fully buried in the ground, so the trains are actually travelling below ground level in a trough. But you still can hear them. We, including our parents did not find the noise ennoying, but be aware of this. Car traffic same as in most Côte d’Azur villages in summer.
All in all, all of us enjoyed our stay very much will most probably book this house again in the future.
