Set in lush, mature gardens, Tavira Garden offers excellent vacation facilities including 2 adult pools, 2 kids pools, gym (with personal trainer on hand), tennis, boules, 2 kids play areas, BBQ areas, ample safe parking, etc. Only 30 minutes from Faro airport, Tavira Garden is 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the old centre of the historic town of Tavira. Tavira boasts Phoenician, Roman, Moorish, Crusader and other remains – including a Roman bridge still in everyday use (but pedestrianised!). The town abounds with restaurants, old churches, bric-a-brac shops and boutiques, and the town council organises a steady stream of entertainment during the season – street theatre, exhibitions, concerts, folk music and dancing, film festival, circus, etc. Fishing is still a major local source of employment and this is reflected in the menus of the very reasonably priced restaurants. The nearby Ilha da Tavira (Tavira Island, reached by 10 minute ferry ride or by an old train straight out of a kids’ cartoon) boasts 8 miles/12 km of some of the best and least crowded beaches in the Algarve. The Ria Formosa Nature Park, the historic and picturesque Guadiana Valley with its walled towns, and the Algarve hills, are all within easy reach. Express buses and trains permit day trips to Seville or Lisbon. Three golf courses lie within 5 to 10 minutes drive (Benaor, Quinta da Cima, Quinta da Ria), a furtehr four within 20 mins (Quinta Vale, Monte Rei, Castro Marim, Colina Verde) – one hour will bring you to almost all of the well known course in the Algarve or to Isla da Canela and Islantilla just over the border in Spain.
We offer four large well equipped 2-bed apts in Tavira Garden, each sleeping 4 to 6 guests. Apt 15A is a duplex with 120m² /1300ft² and has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge, dining room, etc. It is luxuriously and comprehensively equipped to accommodate 4 to 6 guests. The individual front door opens directly onto the gardens beside one of the pool areas. Internally, the front door opens into a lobby area off which are the dining room and the kitchen. From this lobby area, steps lead down to the living area and up to the bedrooms. The living area and both bedrooms are air-conditioned; with the exception of the kitchen, all windows are fitted with “blackout curtains”. Free WiFi Broadband Internet is provided by the complex and is accessible in the lounge. There is satellite TV with BBC, ITV, etc (all of the four apts have the UK channels, two also have German and Swedish channels). Bedlinen and towels are changed, and the apt cleaned, each 6-8 days. English-speaking staff are on hand in reception to assist with any queries or difficulties which may arise.

Leave A22 motorway at Tavira exit (35km from Faro airport). Follow N270 to N125. On reaching roundabout on N125 turn east toward Spain. Tavira Garden is on the left approx 300m after the next roundabout. We can arrange competitive car-rental at airport or in Tavira. Airport transfers Euro 40,00 (2011).
Great Location
I was very pleased to stay at Tavira Gardens, the apartment was really nice and very clean. Everything that was required to make my stay enjoyable was provided, the staff of the complex also was most con siderate in making my stay worry free and happy, inasmuch as I was travelling from Canada my first time in Portugal they were all supportive. I would highly recommend this property.
Tavira Garden
Tavira Gardens is a very pleasant complex with a variety of holiday accommodation. We stayed in nos. 15 and 16 (Ted Mooney's properties) and enjoyed very spacious, well-equipped and clean facilities. A couple of minor problems were resolved very quickly and efficiently, for which we are grateful to Ted and his team.
Ted assisted us with booking a taxi from the airport and we used the same company for transport to local beaches and in and out of Tavira town.
The pool area is pleasant with sunloungers available or small grassy areas.
The bistro/bar provides good snacks and has a very good menu.
Tavira town is about a twenty-five minute walk away and is a charming little town and interesting to walk around. We enjoyed the talk given at the water tower where a camera obscura can be seen. We found the restaurants in the narrow streets (before you cross the river) to be very enjoyable and we had some excellent meals, reasonably priced.
Travelling to the beaches is unusual - using either a small ferry boat or small train. The sand is great and decorated by thousands of shells. Our favourite was Cabanas and we frequented the Marina Bar where we had good food (homemade jam and plenty of toast for breakfast!) and friendly service.
A day trip to Seville was well worth the effort - a beautiful city.
Our party of eight (four adults and four 19-24yrs) agreed it was a very successful holiday.
Spacious apartment, well equipped and comfortable
We booked this at really short notice, but it seemed nothing was too much trouble to ensure our visit went well. The apartment is huge, more like a house. Very high standards of cleanliness throughout, and comfortable beds and bedding. Loads of books to read. Tavira is a lovely interesting town with much to see, even in winter, let alone in better weather when the beaches would be wonderful. Very glad we went and very appreciative that we were able to book it with 48 hours notice.
Brilliant Holiday
Great apartment, great complex, great pools, gardens, restaurant on site. Best town on on the algarve. I would recommend it strongly for families.
Home away from home
Everything we needed in both apartments. We stayed here with 3 children. Location good for accessing the things we wanted to do while in Portugal. Tavira is a lovely town - not overrun with tourism but with every amenity. I would definately stay here again.

I can't add much to what has already been said, except that the food in the resort's Bistro is excellent and reasonably priced. The wi-fi works in 15A and all of the facilities are excellent. We've been twice to this apartment and its very comfortable. No complaints. Check the map for location as its not in the town or beach if this matters to you.
