The famous Bondi beach is 10km away but an even better option is to take the ferry to Manly beach (no driving) and visit Le Kiosk restaurant. There are over 50 beaches to choose from in Sydney. Sydney has over 120 golf courses and these can be found close by and all over the city. Snow skiing is available within 4 hours drive from Sydney in the Snowy Mountains from mid June to mid October.
The harbour offers wonderful sailing, water skiing, wind surfing and canoeing. There are great walking and running tracks around the harbour with many cycle ways. About 2 hours away to the west are the Blue Mountain offering wonderful mountain climbing, and about 3 hours to the north is the oldest of Australia's wine areas, the Hunter Valley. About 4 hours to the South West are the Snowy Mountains where one can enjoy great skiing between mid June and mid October each year. If sunning and swimming are your pastime there are over 50 beaches in Sydney to choose from.
