Ideally situated to excellent road links to historic towns and villages. Two and half miles from Manningtree Train Station : Only 1 hr by train to London City. Ipswich town and station is only 15 minutes by car, or there is the local bus. Local taxi available to and from airports or the local station.
An ideal base for B & B business guests, or for parents, re-unions or attending events at the private and prestigious 'Royal Hospital School' which is only half a mile away.
Horse riders who wish to bring their own horses to enjoy a horse holiday together to explore the local lanes, bridleways, woodlands. To ride in the sea and along the sandy shoreline estuaries.
The cottage is only within a few minutes walking distance from Alton Water Leisure, with its scenic views, wildlife and water sports; whilst walking in the other direction takes you to the Stour estuary, where one can breathe in the sea air, fish, ride or enjoy the bird life and perhaps even take a cruise from Ipswich, taking in the beautiful sights and local interest along the River Stour and Orwell.
We are closely situated to Dedham and Flatford made famous by John Constable, the artist, who resided in East Bergholt. Just 10 minutes away by car, is the small quaint town of Manningtree with its train station. Twenty five minutes by car takes you either to the seaside towns of Harwich, Essex or into Felixstowe town, Suffolk. Also within walking distance are the local village pubs and restaurants, who offer delicious home cooked food.

This unique Suffolk period holiday cottage is situated in the centre of a quiet rural village of Stutton, nr Ipswich. It overlooks our paddocks and adjoining farmland, therefore having open views from all the upstairs bedroom windows.
The locality; Manningtree station is just 2 miles away and one hour by train from London.
The area is known for its outstanding natural beauty and wildlife, all of which is within a few minutes walking distance from Findley Cottage. We are only a short walk away from Alton Water, which offers beautiful tranquil surroundings, along with water sports and other leisure activities. There is a café where you obtain refreshments or hire cycles.
Alternatively by taking a walk in the other direction from the cottage, down to the Stour shoreline and estuary, one can breathe in the refreshing sea air, enjoy the bird life, fishing, watch the ships, or perhaps take a boat trip or explore the beauty of the River Orwell and Stour with Orwell River Cruise. Walkers can join up with the Dedham Vale paths or explore the Shotley Penisular.
The Suffolk Ski Centre and restaurant are only two miles away which boasts a wide range of outdoor activities, including a golf driving range.
Famous places; it is only a short distance by car to visit Dedham, East Bergholt and Flatford made famous by the artists John Constable and Sir Alfred Munnings.
The well televised Jimmy's Farm is only two miles away.
Manningtree and Mistley - "are more than just a gateway to the famous Constable Country. They are steeped in their own history".

Beaches; Felixstowe, Dovercourt and Harwich with Harwich International Port, cruise ships. Their beaches, market and shopping towns only 20 minutes drive away. All rich in their own maritime history.
Towns; Ipswich town and railway station is only 15 minutes away by car, along by the River Orwell route. Or perhaps you may like to take the bus into town. The bus stops being only minutes walking distance from Findley Cottage.
Shops; village shops and the post office are in the next village of Holbrook, which is approximately 1 mile away.
Restaurants; there are plenty to choose from. The Kings Head which is just a few minutes walk away. The Gardeners Arms, a typical country style family run pub and only approx 10 minutes walk away. The Bull at Brantham approx ¾ mile away has a restaurant with superb views overlooking the River Stour. Taking a longer walk or short drive in the other direction is The Compasses at Holbrook.
