'River Banks' - 2 bedroom property in rural Cornwall

River Banks is a purpose built, 2 bedroomed bungalow at Rosecraddoc Lodge, a collection of holiday properties built within the grounds of the old Rosecraddoc Manor, just north of the market town of Liskeard. There is a public house that serves the site, but no noisy night clubs, amusement arcades or swimming pools. This is for people and families who are looking for a peaceful holiday in the countryside. It is however, close enough to major roads to make it easy to visit the attractions of Cornwall and West Devon on day trips before returning to 'base' each evening.

Many of our visitors take the opportunity to see some of the many gardens open to the public in Cornwall, including the Eden Project, just 20 miles (32 km) away. Others enjoy the nearby fishing villages and towns on the south coast. Some enjoy a day in Plymouth. There's something for everyone within easy reach.

'River Banks' has two bedrooms, one double and one twin, a spacious lounge/diner, a very well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom, with shower.

Entry through the back door brings you into the kitchen area, equipped with cooker with oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. A wide range of cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery makes self-catering easy for you. A cupboard next to the kitchen houses the hot water tank and some useful shelving space. There is plenty of cupboard space separating the kitchen from the lounge/dining area.

The dining table comfortably seats five people (please bring your own table-cloth) and the lounge includes soft seating for up to six people. This room also benefits from the large sliding patio doors at the front of the bungalow, a television with freeview top-box and video facility, a night storage heater and an electric fire.

The bedroom at the back of the bungalow has a double bed, while the other bedroom has two 3 foot single beds. Both rooms have a dressing table, a wardrobe and a portable electric heater. Duvets and duvet covers are supplied but you will need to bring your own bottom sheet and pillow cases.

The bathroom, refurbished in 2011, has a bath with overhead electric shower, a wash-basin, a low-level w/c and a wall heater. You will need to provide your own towels.

There is no gas supply and electricity is provided via a £1 slot meter, charged at less than cost price. Visitors arrive to a small supply of essentials such as milk and tea bags.

The allocated parking space is just a short step across the driveway. The bungalow is close to the stream that runs through Rosecraddoc, helping to complete the relaxing environment and providing an ideal setting for that evening BBQ and drink.

Liskeard is an old Stannary town in south-east Cornwall. Most of our visitors use the supermarkets in Liskeard, although there is plenty of fresh local produce available in many independant outlets throughout the region.

Looe is the nearest coastal town, famous as a fishing port, supplying some of the best fish to the markets in London and even in Europe. What better than to buy freshly caught fish for your evening BBQ? Close to Looe is Polperro, famous for its narrow streets leading down to the coast.

Bodmin Moor provides a playground of a different sort and many of our visitors enjoy a short trip to either Sibleyback or Colliford Lakes. Fishing and other watersports are available at both, as well as nature trails and other leisure activities.

Cornwall is the number one holiday destination in England for good reason. There is something for everyone in Cornwall including, spectacular coastline, great beaches, small fishing villages hidden away, rolling countryside, moorland and many places of interest.

Our visitors enjoy a variety of activities according to their age and tastes. Those with young children may enjoy the beaches and the farms, particularly Trethorne Leisure Farm, the Tamar Donkey Sanctuary or perhaps the nearby Monkey Park. Those without children may enjoy some of the many National Trust properties or gardens in the county, or just exploring the varied countryside with walks over the moors or along the rugged coastline.

Those with an interest in history will enjoy a day out in Plymouth or Bodmin or discovering the old tin mines or China Clay works. Some may like to travel on one or two of the local railways, including the Liskeard-Looe branch line or the steam trains from Bodmin or over Dartmoor.

NOTE: We normally let from Saturday to Saturday, although other days, including shorter breaks may be possible out of season. Not available between 7th January and 1st March.

No extra charge for pets.

We offer a 10% reduction on bookings of two consecutive weeks or more.

We generally ask for a 30% deposit with balance due 14 days before the start of your holiday. Smaller deposits and staged payments can be arranged however.

Payment by direct transfer via on-line banking, cheque or credit/debit cards via PayPal are all accepted.

Parents - Please be aware that the property is next to a narrow stream and young children should be supervised accordingly
