The casita is set in a beautiful location near Orgiva in the wonderful mountains of Las Alpujarras which are part of the Sierra Nevada National Park and although secluded, it is only minutes away from the lively market town of Orgiva with supermarkets, banks, cafés, restaurants and bars (all serving free tapas).
Casita Characholes is designed with an open plan lounge/kitchen and it has 2 spacious bedrooms, one double, one twin plus bathroom.
Outside the casita are two patio areas: one shaded dining area with table, chairs and barbecue for al fresco dining and on the other side a tiled area with sunloungers and the Jacuzzi, where you can unwind whilst taking in the superb views of the, often, snow covered Sierra Nevadas. The Jacuzzi is also great as a Hot -Tub in the cooler months and an absolute must after a long hike up the mountains, when it does wonders for tired legs.
There is plenty of outside space to sit and soak up the sun and when you have had enough sun, why not pull up a chair under an ancient olive tree or find the vine covered pergola on the next level for a bit of shade. Just take your pick and find your own bit of serendipity.
If you are feeling energetic there are many wonderful places to visit and explore. The area is is well renowned for hiking and walking and many routed are now mapped and marked according to difficulty, so whether you just fancy a nice leisurely stroll or feel like tackling the mighty Mulhacén (at 3483m the tallest peak on the Iberian peninsula) there is a walk to suit you.
Birdwatchers are also well served with a variety of birds ranging from warblers to magnificent eagles.
Three of the oldest and most picturesque white mountain villages in Las Alpujarras where you will find local handicrafts for sale, are only a short drive away and well worth a visit in their own right or on your way to Trevélez, the highest village in Spain.
Granada with the wonderful Alhambra and it's fascinating old Moorish town is only 45 min by car or bus.
The Mediterranean coast with it's many popular beaches is easily reached in about 30 mins.
In winter skiing is available in the Sierra Nevadas at Pradollano, which is Europe's most southern ski resort.

*The lounge has a very comfortable 3 seater sofa and two reclining chairs plus a small coffee table. There is a TV and also a DVD+ MP3 player.
We supply a small selection of games and there is also a selection of books, DVDs and CDs.
