Les Aubépines is a haven of peace and tranquillity, tucked away at the end of a lane that leads up the side of the valley. We have half an acre of grounds that comprise a front garden, back garden, small field and apple orchard/sheep field, as well as a parking space for two cars. The lane continues into the fields from where you can walk into the forest.
Our front garden, next to our sheep-field, has a picnic table and chairs with a lovely view of the fields below; it is a safe enclosed area, with gates that can be shut to keep in any small children and dogs. To the rear of the house is a further garden with breakfast patio and small vegetable plot. At the top of this garden we have placed a bench from where you can enjoy the view of the valley. The particular attractions of this seating place are that you can be nuzzled by cows in the morning and see lovely sunsets in the evening.
We know that children need to be entertained, even when the weather keeps you indoors, so we have not only provided satellite TV, dvd player, an archaic computer games system and all the usual board games, but we also use our garage as a games room with table tennis, babyfoot, darts and basketball net.
The area is ideal for bike rides and country walks, with the extensive forest of Eawy providing many kilometers of car-free roads. There’s a children’s play area, with football pitch and free tennis courts in the adjacent village, golf, horse-riding and fishing a few minutes away. You can arrange to canoe down the river or visit the nearby “Reve de bisons” on a buffalo safari. Sailing, go-karting and quad biking are also within easy reach, near Dieppe.
The picturesque local villages all have weekly markets and excellent restaurants. For more extensive shopping Dieppe, with its beach, busy market and superb fish restaurants, is only a 25 mins drive away.
For those wanting to venture further afield, a day trip to Rouen or to Paris can easily be arranged by train.

Les Aubépines is situated on the edge of the amazingly unspoilt Forest of Eawy, one of the most extensive beech forests in Europe. It is an ideal location for peaceful nature walks and bike rides. Our visitors have spotted red squirrels, deer and wild boar, not to mention the many varieties of birds. Just along the road we also have some large and beautiful fishing lakes, where you can sit in peace and contemplate the scenery at the same time as fishing for trout, pike, roach, etc. In the other direction lies the delightful golf course of Le Vaudichon, with its beautiiful chateau restaurant, next to the charming village of Saint-Saens. The area is full of picturesque, traditional villages, many of which have weekly markets where you can buy a variety of delicious local produce: butter, cheese, honey, jams, cider, sausage, to name but a few. There are numerous working farms and beautiful gardens open to the public in the area, as well as historical sites such as the V1 rocket site and the Normandy landing beaches. Dieppe itself with its enormous Saturday market, its many delicious fish restaurants, its churches and museums as well as the annual kite-flying festival, is only 30 minutes away. Near to Dieppe lie many tradtional sea-side resorts with their dramatic cliffs, pebbly beaches and rock pools.

Les Aubepines , August 2010
Many thanks; we very much enjoyed our stay at your home in France - very comfortable and wonderfully peaceful.
Les Aubepines , October 2010
We had a great time. Saturday we found the Dieppe market with no problems at all. Other days we bicycled to Rosay and back, hiked in the woods, and enjoyed a day of shopping and sightseeing in Rouen. On our last day we visited the Val des Bures and took home some wonderful cheeses. Great bread from the bakery in Bellencombre (spring water too). We missed the bison farm, as we arrived on Monday to find it's only open Fri-Sun in the off season! It was great to get away for a bit and experience French culture and cuisine. And yes, the cider is very tasty! The electric radiators kept the room warm enough, but the warmth of the wood fire was much more robust and natural... and more fun too of course. The kids liked the sheep and cows outside as well. The area is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.
Fab time at Les Aubepines
We had an absolutely fab time, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We thought the house was just gorgeous and in an amazingly beautiful setting. If we could do it all again - we wouldn't change a thing. We left just happy, positive comments in the visitors book and truly had a 10/10 experience . We enjoyed cooking for 8 on the aga and absolutely loved the table tennis.
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your beautiful home,
A very big thank you
Just a short note to say a very big thank you, the house is lovely and in one of the best locations in northern France. We are keen cyclists and the area as you know is perfect for this type of activity. As for walking in those woods at the back" breath taking" once again thank you.
