This charming and tastefully furnished complex of two houses sharing infinity pool, courtyard and two acres of terraced gardens is complete with expansive views over Fayence and the Esterel. Secluded but not isolated and is close to restaurants etc.
The property is very close to interesting spots such as Cannes, St Tropez, St Maxime, St Raphael, Fréjus, Grasse and St Paul de Vence which are all within an hour's drive. The house is also just 800 metres from the bars, restaurants, 'boules' courts, boulangerie and supermarket of Seillans, one of France's most beautiful medieval villages.
With 250 square meter of accommodation, both the main house and guest house benefit from fully equipped kitchens, living rooms with fireplaces, and terraces overlooking nearby villages and mature pine forest. It is complete with amenities such as WiFi connection, 42 inches TV with all terrestrial English channels, DVD player, iPod dock with wireless speakers, telephone, central heating and air-conditioning. The pool house is also complete with shower, barbecues and comfortable dining indoors and out. The gardens, on the other hand, are dominated by olives with many fruit trees and mature shrubs.
The property, being on multiple levels, is not ideally suited for wheelchairs or infants. The main house could straightforwardly accommodate those with mobility problems it itself, but the pool is on an upper terrace, accessed via stone steps. The main draw is an 10m by 5m infinity pool with sun terrace overlooking the house and extensive views across the Esterel and to Fayence. The pool house is complete with shower and shaded lounge area to escape the midday heat while the terraces accessed through French doors from each house provide the ideal location for a sundowner. The shared courtyard is alse perfect setting for communal outdoor dining, including built-in barbecue.
Guests may take a walk through the terraced gardens and take in the stunning views while counting the different varieties of fruit tree. They may also take a glass of rosé to the lovers bench on the upper terrace and watch the lights sparkle in Fayence under the moonlight.
Aside from the beautiful highlights that the house can provide, outside there is more to discover as all the famous beaches of the French Riviera are accessible within an hour. The long sandy beaches of Fréjus and St Raphael are children-friendly and offer watersports with coaching facilities. Those who are seeking to chill away from the crowds will be more at home at one of the many beach clubs where the music is perfect and the seafood served is impressive.
Golf lovers may also indulge themselves with the popular golf courses in the area such as the Golf at the Four Seasons' Domaine de Terre Blanche which is just 10 kilometers distant in Montauroux. This place is a demanding and spectacular new course which will test the higher handicappers. Golf at the beautiful Chateau de Taulane, close to Bargemon about 25 kilometers distant, is also more forgiving but equally stunning. And for meetinng the challenge, lunch or dinner at each venue is very much rewarding.
Seillans and many of the nearby villages have been for many years frequented by artists, and this is a theme that prevails in many of the local shops and markets.
The markets themselves are colourful and vibrant which makes a great place for people watch if they get tired of tasting dozens of different varieties of olives or cheese. The main market in Fayence is a particularly a favourite and operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the season.
Guests cannot of course avoid sampling a glass or two of wine, especially rosé, while in the area. They will pass many a vineyards along their travels as many of which offers tasting opportunities. One of the favourites is the Chateau des Selves, outside Seillans.
Dining out is a real treat in Seillans and nearby. In Seillans itself fine dining may be enjoyed at Les deux Rocs, known as a very old and beautiful restaurant or hotel with an outdoor terrace, while more informal dining is a must in the main square at either Le Relais or the Gloire de mon Père'. Other highly recommended nearby restaurants include Le Castellaras, La Farigulette and Le Moulin de la Camondoule both in Fayence.
For those who wants to build up the courage to take a flight in a glider, there is also a sweet little restaurant directly adjacent to the airfield, where guests can take in all the activity.
