Description

With oil-fired central heating throughout, it has four comfortable double bedrooms with two bathrooms, one with shower; a well-sized kitchen with large pine table for breakfast/dinner; a relaxing, sun-lit sitting room with open gas fire and large bay window that looks out onto the cathedral. At the rear of the building, there is an extensive private garden with flowerbeds and sloping lawns.

Car parking is on the street and free throughout Dornoch, and there are all manner of shops, restaurants and pubs within minutes of the property. It is only a ten-minute walk to the famous Royal Dornoch Golf Club, and then a further five minutes will take you on to the unspoiled lengths of Dornoch beach, perfect for a bucket and spader or for walking the dog.

Originally the home of the bank manager when he was obliged 'to live above the shop', the Bank House was bought by the writer Rosamunde Pilcher in 1992, as she thought Dornoch to be similar to her childhood home in Lelant, Cornwall. Her husband was also a keen golfer and a member of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club. In 2008, Rosamunde Pilcher handed the house over to her daughter-in-law, Kirsty, who had spent her own childhood on a farm near Dornoch and had attended the Academy.

Rosamunde's book, Winter Solstice, was made into a film in Dornoch, using many of the local landmarks for locations.

There is a dressing table and armchair close to the window that looks out on to the cathedral. Bedroom 2 This has a double bed with a curtained recess for hanging clothes and a chest of drawers. Bedroom 3 This dormer-windowed room has 2 twin beds, a chest of drawers and a dressing table. An armchair sits in the window. Bedroom 4 Under the Velux window, this is a twin-bedded room, but it also does have another bed in case it is required for a kid's 'sleep-over'. It has a large chest of drawers and a television.
Bathrooms	2 bathrooms. Bathroom 1 Carpetted, with large bath, basin and Saniflow lavatory. Bathroom 2 Cushion-flooring, with bath and Mira power shower, basin and lavatory. WC There is a Saniflow lavatory and small wash hand basin with a small Velux window between the two bedrooms. Airing Cupboard With shelves, ideal for drying damp clothes.
