We stayed at Dunvegan for a weekend at the end of May and what a stunning house it is. The house is beautiful, spotless and everything you need and more is provided - down to discos in the bathroom and the essential wine coolers and extra beer fridge! We were a party of 14 celebrating a 90th birthday and ages ranged from 2 to 90. The house suited everyone, a perfect place to socialise and all eat together but plenty of room to escape if you need to. The kids loved the open plan too and it was easy to keep track of them. Although the garden space is limited, its been made great use of and the kids loved throwing a ball up and down the steps. They also adored the 'fairy seats'. The surrounding areas are stunning ,especially St.Abbs and Coldingham beach was a big hit. There are lots of lovely tea rooms etc for those that don't want to walk the scenery, but just sit and enjoy it.
Our party included family members coming from Ireland, Germany and Singapore and everyone said just what a great find this house was. We had a fantastic time and would love to return. We even had the best Eurovision Party ever.
As has been said before Jan was a huge help in planning this trip, giving lots of information and always ready to help. Donald was really welcoming on the day and there were lots of lovely personal touches to the house which made it special. Just trying to think of another reason to revisit now! Book this house - it is lovely!
Loved our stay at this house!

Have just returned from a 2 night break with a group of 10 friends and everyone had a wonderful stay at this wonderful house. It has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard - everything you will need is provided. There is lots of space for a large group getogether but also loads of space in the bedrooms and outside to be away from the buzz if that's what you want. Jan and Donald were fabulous - from my initial enquiry to leaving the house, Jan was in regular contact answering any questions and enquiries I had. When we arrived Donald had the champagne on ice and glasses ready and waiting for us - one doesn't usually get a welcome like that! We walked the St. Abbs coastal path on Saturday which was great - lovely weather and spectacular scenery, ending up in St. Abbs for a late lunch sitting outside in the warm sunshine! We couldn't have asked for a better house for our weekend and we will definately be returning - we are already planning to go back in the autumn, If you require spacious, luxury accommodation then you won't be disappointed with Dunvegan.
A huge thank you to Jan and Donald.
A Snowy New Year Stay
Review Submitted: January 4, 2010 Date of Stay: January 2009
A party of 8 adults (I use the term 'adults' lightly!) stayed for a New Year break. The house was a perfect social base for us all. The facilities are great in the house with plenty of kitchen equipment and lots of storage space. The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable with lovely thick duvets, pillows and flat screen TV's. The open plan kitchen/living areas were perfect for chatting, cooking and playing games whilst still being big enough that you weren't getting in each others way.
Donald met us at the house, we phoned ahead so he could make sure the house was heated for our arrival, (this was his suggestion) so we had a true warm welcome when we arrived. The snow came thick and fast during most of our stay, but this didn't really stop us too much and we had some lovely walks in the countryside and coastal areas, not to mention a good shopping day in Edinburgh!
We all left the house fully relaxed and ready for the New Year ahead, thank you to Donald and his wife for allowing us to stay in their wonderful pad! We will be back!!
Stay at Dunvegan
Review Submitted: October 2, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
A group of 10 of us stayed at Dunvegan over the September weekend and each and every one of us loved it! The house is stunning and very well appointed. There is plenty of space both inside and out. The middle floor is a great area for socialising and accommodates a large group easily and comfortably. Jan and Donald were very helpful throughout the whole process and have added lots of personal touches that add to the overall experience. We brought our food for the weekend with us but there is an Asda supermarket about 10 minutes down the road. We will definitely be returning!
