Description
On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room with 2 large sofas, wood burner, cd player, dvd player and satelite tv. The original stable doors have now been replaced by a beautiful arched window, with is also in the living room. The kitchen is through from the lounge through a stone archway, and is fully fitted, it has the following appliances : fridge, freezer, dishwasher, built in cooker, ceramic hob, extractor fan, washing machine, kettle and toaster. There is a dining area for 6, which leads onto the terrace with a table and chairs and overlooks the pool. Upstairs there are 2 large bedrooms with original beams and dressed stone walls, there is a double room and singles room with 3 single beds. Finally the bathroom, which has a toilet, shower cubicle, bath and sink unit.
Locally, there are numerous good restaurants to try and superb local markets offering a wide range of fresh seafood, cheeses and farm produce. The village of Migron has a village store, butchers and bakery where you can buy your fresh morning croissants. The Charente-Maritime with it’s exhilarating micro-climate offers much interest. You can explore historic market towns such as Saintes, Poitiers and Angouleme with their beautiful sandstone facades, visit the revered brandy houses of Remy Martin, Martell and Courvoisier in Cognac or head for the coastline with it’s many sun-drenched sandy beaches and islands. For the children there are zoos, aquariums, mini train rides, boat trips to the Islands of Ré, Aix and Oleron and the Futuroscope adventure park near Poitiers. For those a little more energetic, guests can choose from a selection of bikes and explore the pretty local villages and pineau vineyards (not forgetting to try a few tipples along the way).

Superb accomodation
What a lovely place, we stayed for a week in September and had a brilliant time. The house was great, well equipped and immacuately clean. Lovely peaceful location but only a short drive from great towns. Amanda and Ian were very welcoming and provided a brilliant welcome basket that easily kept us going for the first night. Very well equipped especially with toys for the children (aged 1 and 3), the pool was great and always kept clean. Our two children particularly enjoyed the playhouse, while we liked sitting in the summer house watching them with a glass of wine. Thanks very much!!!
Stunning barn conversion
Had a super relaxing holiday. The accommodation was clean, light, airy and comprehensively equipped. Modern but with plenty of character. Loved the pool, garden and especially the summer house. Perfect for a rural retreat. The owners made us feel very welcome and were always on hand without being intrusive. The Welcome Basket was brilliant - especially the champagne.
Everything was first class
We had a fantastic time. The gite lived up to expectations and more!!. Everything was finished to the highest standads both inside and out. We made good use of the bikes to enjoy the lovely countryside. We used the outside stone summerhouse for all our meals and in the evening it was magical to sit, chat ,drink and listen to music. It was the most relaxing holiday I have had! Wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Do book - you won't be disappointed
Fabulous accomodation
Just back after spending a glorious, relaxing week at Maison Cerisier.
On arrival we were warmly greeted by the helpful owners and their sons who provided the best welcome basket! The house is beautifully designed and immaculate, airy and spacious and has everything you could possibly need. It overlooks the lovely pool, with its own little patio area, but there is also a summer house and games room, (and bikes to borrow) so lots to keep all ages happy! The gite is an easy drive to the beach and Saintes and close to Cognac, with its interesting tours! Had a fabulous dinner at the local Chateau, very quiet off season but I imagine would get busy at other times. I would highly recommend this gite to anyone wanting relaxation and a bit of sightseeing.
