Description
Beautiful larger than average 1 bedroom apartment in the charming village of Roda near Los Alcazares in the Murcia area of Southern Spain. With balcony overlooking the communal gardens to the front and historic 14th century church and hacienda gardens to the side.
This is an ideal area to relax and recharge whilst still being only 30 minutes stroll to the bars and beaches of Los Alcazares. There is numerous Golf courses close by with the nearest (Roda Golf) only 10 minutes walk away.
The apartment is on the 1st floor and has a lift to access. However due to there being 6 or 7 steps to access the entrance of the apartment block it is not suitable for wheelchair users. There is a communal garden to the front of the apartment area and a small grassed play area with swings etc. at the back of the apartment block. Our apartment overlooks the ancient church and Hacienda to the side.
The wonderful Beach which stretches all around the Mar Menor is only 3 minute drive from Roda. Ideal for all water-sports and safe for swimming, very child friendly. Many beach-side bars and restaurants along the promenade. Los Alcazares has a 6 screen cinema. Also available is go- Karting.
The closest golf course is Roda Beech and Golf resort which is a 5 min walk away and is a new Dave Thomas Designed 18 Hole course.The area also boasts many Golf courses and is often referred to as the Costa Del Golf. Some are listed below:-

The guide book says: "The healing mud of Mar Menor: Healing Mud Mar Menor mud. Mar Menor, with its high proportion of sunny days per year, has an ideal climate for the natural production of rich clays.
These have been used for therapeutic treatment for thousands of years - the Greeks were fond of such treatment, and Galen, in the 2nd century AD, wrote about the healing properties of mud.
At Mar Menor you can find a range of healing treatments, said to cure a wide range of conditions including rheumatism, skin complaints, gout and broken bones. "This explains why you can be walking along the beach and are suddenly confronted by people covered from head to toe in black mud. When dry, the mud has a silky sheen.
In various backwaters around the Mar Menor you can find dozens of people wading around and plastering themselves with the black silt. Apparently, it cures everything.
The explanation is that the mud and water of the Mar Menor have a very high mineral content and that, along with the sun, does a body good. The 'stuff' does look suspiciously like some sort of industrial by-product. However, it does seem to work. Several cynical Brits have been known to sneak off quietly, give it a try and then sing its praises.
Also the area of Los Alcazares and its beeches offer many cafe bars, restaurants and Ice cream parlors, specialty of the area is Fish dishes and the many traditional Tapas foods, found in most bars.

As almost everyone knows the Mar Menor is a paradise for sunbathing and water sports to be enjoyed all year round. Los Alcazares and Los Narejos are typical Spanish towns located on the shores of the Mar Menor and a 3 min drive or 20-30 min walk from the apartment. They boast beautiful blue flag beaches and an attractive 7k promenade dotted with numerous beach front bars. For families with small children the clean sandy beach is very safe, with shallow water and little tide. It offers a wide choice of activities including water sports, boat trips, go karts and cycle hire. For the golf enthusiast there are over 10 excellent golf courses running from nearby La Manga right up to Alicante, four of them of international standard. Los Alcazares holds two weekly markets and several annual festivals. Los Alcazares is within easy access of Murcia City an historic Moorish city, famous for it's architecture and history as well as it's excellent shops, bars, restaurants and theatres; and Cartagena renowned for it's beautiful bay and harbour side fish restaurants is a 15 minute drive away. Directions
The nearest Airport is Murcia (San Javier) which is only 5-10 min away in a taxi. Alicante is also readily available being only 45 Min away. Both airports are served by many low cost airlines including Ryanair, Easy-jet, Monarch, BMI Baby etc.
Hire cars are also available at the airports and whilst not necessary, a car is recommended to fully appreciate the area. Many Taxi's and Cycles are available to hire also.
