The village of Dalton is 7 miles away from the two historic towns of Richmond and Barnard Castle. Dalton is 2 miles off the A66 which runs between Scotch Corner on the A1 motorway and the Lake District. It is 7 miles from Scotch Corner and is signposted to Dalton. A narrow track road brings you into the village where you go past the church up the hill and the driveway for Hilltop Cottage is the last on the right before the bend in the road.
