It is on a quiet and peaceful location and only 10 minutes drive thru lush banana plantations and prime panoramic views down to Encandilado de Los Gigantes, voted Best Panoramic View on island (Reference: La Perla maps).

Nearby Puerto Santiago and its award-winning (blue flag) "Playa de la Arena" is just a few minutes' (highly scenic ) drive down the mountain also... enjoy lazy beaches, fresh fish restaurants (check out 'El Meson' as you drive into Puerto Santiago on the left) ; a comprehensive leisure Sports centre complex (range of classes offered daily: competenty instructors: aerobix, pilates, yoga, aqua , etc.. on a pay-as-you go basis! ...eeeek!) , as well as a couple stylish night clubs (Playa Arena region) ...in contrast , Tamaimo, although scenic is an 'open plan' mountain town....with a sprinkling of bars and restaurants and essential retail outlets (chemist, hardware stor4e, etc) . TENERIFE is one of seven Canary islands situated just off the NW Coast of AFRICA. It is known for its steady warm climate (avge 20 - 27 Celcius) generaly throughout the entire 12months of the year.

Tenerife is first and foremost a Happy Island, sub-tropical, it enjoys Sun , amazing beaches, sea life, scenic landscapes (including El Teide Volcano) , cleanliness, water/theme parks, its own zoo ("Loro Parque", Puerto de La Cruz) where animals are well tended to & cared for by friendly competent staff.

Puerto Santiago has a relaxed laid back atmosphere with many people returning year after year. It has a reasonable variety of restaurants, some of which are excellent ... along with a scattering of mini-supermarkets. it is home to Playa de Arena (Blue Flag Award year after year) with its dark sands plus easy-on-the-eye palm tree-lined promenade.

Sunseekers: Tenerife South Island is very different from Tenerife North Island. The former is generally flat , sandy arid with beaches aplenty (starting south & travelling clock-wise west bound) Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, Adeje, Playa San Juan, Playa de la Arena, Puerto Santiago, Los Gigantes...it's the SUN half of the island. In contrast, the north half of the island (with capital Santa Cruz and Puerto de La Cruz) is on higher altitude and much much greener....and generally substantially cooler...it is perfectly possible and not uncommon for it to be a cool often wet in Puerto de la Cruz (North) yet be dry and sunny in the south.
Local leisure activities	Mountain village of Tamaimo tends to be few degrees cooler than seaside level especially indicated for those who find excessive summer heat uncomfortable.
