TENERIFE is one of seven Canary islands situated just off the NW Coast of AFRICA. It is known for its steady warm climate (avge 20 - 27 Celcius) generaly throughout the entire 12months of the year.
Tenerife is first and foremost a Happy Island, sub-tropical, it enjoys Sun , amazing beaches, sea life, scenic landscapes (including El Teide Volcano) , cleanliness, water/theme parks, its own zoo ("Loro Parque", Puerto de La Cruz) where animals are well tended to & cared for by friendly competent staff.
Puerto Santiago has a relaxed laid back atmosphere with many people returning year after year. It has a reasonable variety of restaurants, some of which are excellent ... along with a scattering of mini-supermarkets. it is home to Playa de Arena (Blue Flag Award year after year) with its dark sands plus easy-on-the-eye palm tree-lined promenade.
Los Gigantes is smaller but no less enchanting, with its own harbour (boat excursions available here) .There is also a tiny but quaint beach here , plus a good range of restaurants, tea shops (home-made cakes & scones! :-) , gift shops, and a scattering of smart boutiques, as well as duty free-shopping.
