SILVER COAST REGION Praia Del Rey Golf & Country Club enjoys an enviable and stunning location on the Silver Coast. Set within a region of cultural and historical importance, renowned for golden beaches with breathtaking sunsets, wonderful restaurants and delicious wines, the part of Portugal is a perfect base be it for a relaxing or activity packed family holiday. THE BEACH The beach at Praia Del Rey is spectacular and is regarded as one of the most scenic stretches of coastline. Very often deserted, it offers stunning views across to the Berlengas Islands and benefits from a pleasant breeze throughout summer. A lifeguard is on duty (seasonal). There is safer swimming available close by at the Obidos lagoon which is particularly suited to smaller children. Golf: The Lisbon Coast has recently picked up the IAGTO Golf Destination of the Year with Praia D El Rey winning Golf Resort of the Year. Praia D El Rey is set within extensive grounds of pine forest and sand dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Islands beyond. The 72 par links style course is a good test for both the high handicapped golfer as well as the more advanced player. There is a well equipped Golf shop where lessons with a pro can be booked. The apartment overlooks the driving range to the front and first fairway to the back. To book a round of golf you will need an official handicap. Buggies, trolleys and clubs are available to rent. Nearby golf courses include Bom Successo, Golden Eagles, Penha Longa & Quinta da Marinha in Lisbon.

Casa Carmela in Praia del Rey, Portugal
We had a great holiday in Portugal this summer. We were five people who rented this apartment in Praia del Rey. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable. Both the apartment and the environment corresponded to our expectations and we had a great holiday. This can be recommended to anyone who wants a holiday in a great country with lots of nice people and a host that met all of our expectations.
Lovely, bright spacious apartment
We stayed in this lovely apartment for a week in July 2010 and loved it. It is a clean and spacious apartment and very well located.
A Car is definately needed and local shops and supermarket is close by along with Obidos (worth a visit) and Porto. The swimming pool is located in the back of the apartment and where you can also have a BBQ.
There is also a childrens play area 5 mins away and gorgeous beach around 10. Although the waves can be a bit strong at times.
The owner is very friendly indeed and she welcomed us with some fruit, milk and bread. She was so thoughtful and what a lovely surprise too.
if you need anything she would be more than happy to advise you on trips etc. Also there is an information pack in the apartment with local things to do etc. Very well thought of. The Kitchen is very well equipped and we also had found some olive oil, salt pepper etc in the cupboards!
Would definately recomend this apartment. My 3 Kids loved it and so did we.
Great location for holiday with kids
In July 2010 we spend a week with our 3 kids in this apartment. The location is great, more then enough space and very comfortable.
All the equipment you need is available and the property is very clean. The kids loved the shared pool which is also very clean.
It was some days a little bit fresh and windy. There are more then enough suggestions for activities mentioned in the information pack.
We enjoyed a relaxing time in a great environment
Great holiday - fabulous location
We enjoyed a fantastic week's holiday at this lovely home. The accommodation was perfect for our group comprising four adults and two teenagers. The property is beautifully furnished and well equipped
There are plenty of things to see and do within a shortdrive and the owner provided us with detailed information about these when we made our reservation. If you want to do the wine tour though they require advance booking - and by a few days - so be warned. The beaches close are all beautiful and the teenagers in our group enjoyed the surfing there. If all you want from a holiday is rest and relaxation the villa is a great place for that too.
Overall, a fantastic holiday which was greatly enjoyed by all. A definite for the future.
Excellent
I loved staying in this house. It was excellent. The house is perfect: clean, spacious, well equipped and well decorated and is very close to the beach. I recommend it to all those who want to spend some days in a quiet, beautiful and comfortable place.
We could easily live there full-time!
We've just returned from a week's break and cannot fault this property - it is spotlessly clean, spacious, light and airy, extremely comfortable and well equipped. We could easily live there full-time! We particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the resort and the amazingly empty beach less than 5 minutes' walk away. We spent many hours just sitting by the pool or down at the beach bar watching the world go by. We had excellent meals up at the golf club restaurant and bar where the service is friendly and efficient. The Pizzeria in Serra del Rei is also very good but the portions are enormous. We also ate in a few times and found the kitchen to be great to cook in as it's so well equipped. Would recommend car hire to get around the resort and explore the surrounding area as there's a lot to see. We will most definitely be back soon!
Great weekend break
This place was amazing. Came for a long weekend for a and it couldn't have been any better. Relaxing by the pool and a beach you dream of. Food was fabulous as were all the people we met. See you soon!
Easy travel even with a baby
We rented this property for the last two weeks of June and had a truly fantastic relaxing sun filled holiday. The house is furnished to a standard expected in a top quality hotel and is very spacious. We were two couples and a baby in our group and not once did we feel on top of each other.
The owner provided a baby cot us as well as other baby itmes that you just dont want to carry. The supermarket in Caldas had all the basics we needed from baby food, milk, nappies etc so we stocked up and then just relaxed! The balcony gets sun from mid-morning to late evening so even while the baby was playing inside we could still relax in the sun on the balcony.
The service is great with cleaners coming in at the end of the week and a lovely welcome pack of food and wine was supplied for our arrival! The beach is only a few minutes walk away and is absolutely stunning. The water is very cold but the beach was perfect for going on long walks and the pool was there for swimming on the way back. Overall we had a splendid trip and most definitely will be back. Highly recommended!!!
