This apartment benefits from multiple windows - to the East a very large window in the kitchen, two windows to the East and one to the South in the dining room, one window and one french window in the bedroom, both facing South, and of course a wall to wall glass bay in the penthouse also facing South - which makes the apartment flooded with natural light . The fact that the living area has wall to wall carpet in pastel colours contributes to a bright yet restful environment. As you can see by the accompanying images it is decorated to an exquisite standard with quality fittings.

Although it can sleep up to 3 people, possibly 4 (a Z bed - camp bed - can be added to the double bedroom for a child or to the dining room for a teenager), the apartment is primarily designed for 2 people wanting to spend time in a relaxed and uncluttered environment. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you would require such as satellite TV, DVD player (on request) and fully furnished kitchen and bathroom. A refundable breakages/damage deposit of £250.00 required upon booking, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

Prices are per week (6 nights).. Surcharge pro rata applicable for extra days over 1 week but less than 2.

Deduct 5%if booking for 2 consecutuve weeks or more. Discounts for long winter lets.

A deposit of 50% of the total rental price is payable at the time of booking if the arrival date is more than 8 weeks away and the remainder 50% not more than 2 weeks prior to arrival.

Bed linen, towels and changeover day cleaning included.. One set each bed linen and toweling per person provided. Additional linen will be charged at £1.35 a piece.

Towels and linen changed after 7 days if staying more than 10 days. Additional cleaning can be provided during letting at an additional small cost.

Living room notes:

From the 1st floor landing a staircase leads to the 9m long, 4,5m wide penthouse with its 9m wide window glass panes. This truly splendid dwelling incorporates a kitchenette with sink, electrical hob, and a separate alcove under the loft slanted ceiling comprising of a signle bed, a wash basin, a WC and a small 'bare necessities' cupboard with a mirror. In the lounging area you will find 2 sofas, each sitting 2, 1 desk, 1 bookshelf and cupboard, and a satellite TV. The impressive 'for decoration purposes only' fireplace adds an amazing finishing touch to the overall decoration of that space.

Dining room notes:

From the corridor one enters the dining room/office/study which provides ample space for up to 8 dinner sittings or a comfortable display of open files, folders, paperwork, and laptop, supported by a huge wall to wall bookshelf and cupboard .

Bedroom notes:

The large bedroom on the 1st floor consists of a huge wall to wall wardrobe, 2 single beds and 2 bedside tables, hi-fi, and chairs, benefiting from the view from a window and a french window that opens onto a small balcony.

The alcove adjoining the Penthouse also offers a single bed to accomodate a party of 3

Bathroom notes:

Opposite the bedroom across a corridor you will find the bathroom, featuring 'trompe- oeil' lighting that fakes direct sun light as well as a wall covering mirror behind the bathtub, and offering all facilities - bath/shower tub, WC, bidet and wash basin

Kitchen notes:

The dining room /office connects to the kitchen that features a breakfast area and all facilities including a ceramic hob and electric oven with grill, and a wine rack..

Meal notes:

In Alges you'll find all the conveniences at hand: railway station, buses, trams and taxis, ATM machines, chemists, fresh fish and produce market, supermarket, patisseries, restaurants, and not least Take Away facilties where charcoal BBQed chicken with hot chili sauce is a staple.

Car notes:

Lisbon is just 15 minutes away by car, 9 minutes by train (at rush hour there is a train every 3 minutes, every 20 minutes at other times). You can also take the bus to the centre of Lisbon or the trams that slowly trundle along from Alges to Lisbon allowing you to get off and discover some of the typical Lisbon old quarters.

Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world, outdating other modern European capitals such as London, Paris and Rome by hundreds of years. Julius Caesar made it a municipium called Felicitas Julia, adding to the name Olissipo - leggend has it that Ulyssis also made it his home while roaming in countries far from Greece.. Lisbon enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The typical summer season lasts about six months, from May to October, although in November, March and April temperatures also sometimes reach around 20 °C (68.0 °F).

Lisbon was the European Capital of Culture in 1994 and in 1998 it hosted the Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exphibition).

Leisure notes:

Within 2 minutes walking distance from the flat there is the Alges train station. From there you're 10 minutes away from Lisbon historical centre. In the other direction the train will take you to Estoril and Cascais on a 1/2 hour train ride along the coast bordering the shoreline and offering amazing vistas of the mouth of the river Tagus and the sea..

In the Alges/Cascais Coast dramatic changes of scenery and contrasting environments develop within relatively small distances. The region offers a concentration of different experiences all within a half hour’s drive, from tidy sandy beaches with retaurants and all facilities nearby to pretty wild beaches surrounded by rugged cliffs like Guincho beach , from fertile rolling hills to the stony heights of the. moorish Castle and the Pena Royal Palace in Sintra, both perched on mountains with the sea in the horizon. Other than signtseeing or beach enjoying a number of more specialised interests can also be pursued.in the region: surfing is popular in Carcavelos beach, windsurfing in Guincho beach where some of the World Championship events take place, and not least golf in Estoril, one of the most sought after resorts for golf in Portugal, which given the standard of golf in the country is no mean feat. For more naturalist holidaymakers, there is the Sintra World Heritage Site only under an hour's drive from Alges.

Cascais was originally a small fishing village that over the years has developed into an upmarket residential area for both Portuguese nationals and British expatriates alike. The town centre has kept its narrow cobbled streets charm offering a good selection of restaurants, shops, and lively bars - all testimony of how anglophile Cascais really is.

The drive from Alges to Cascais along the Tagus River North Bank shoreline to its mouth in Carcavelos and then onwards to Estoril/Cascais bordering the sea coastline is unforgettable in both directions: driving towards Cascais you will be pleasantly rewarded by the succession of beaches unfolding along the 'riviera', whereas in the other direction, towards Lisbon, the scenic panoramic view of the capital city and its huge bridge far in the horizon is breathtaking.

Owing to a Mediterranean type micro-climate, the Alges to Cascais coast has mild winters and an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot because a cool sea breeze in the late afternoon clears the hot day temperatures almost daily.The autumn is splendid, bathed in warm sunshine and glorious colours: it hardly ever rains in September, October and November, temperatures in the mid 20s.

Taxis are also available at the airport and the fare to Alges should be around 15.00 Euros, possibly a little more if you have a lot of luggage or are travelling on week ends or after hours., .
