The Gite is a traditional building with a large and welcoming dining kitchen, a cosy living room and interesting ‘millers’ stairs that lead up to double bedroom. You may find it hard to get out of bed in the mornings as from a horizontal position you can look out of the bedroom window and admire the fantastic view of the Luberon hills.
There is a PRIVATE 8 x 4 m private pool, adjacent to the Gite, ideal for cooling off and admiring the views of the surrounding countryside.
Inside the gite you have the comfort of air conditioning - a welcome relief from the Sun in July and August.
This place is ideal for a couple or family with 1 child who want a relaxed and comfortable holiday home away from the crowds.
Additional accommodation is available in the recently built ensuite double bedroom, which is in a separate building, approx 50 m from the Gite. This can be rented as an addition to Gite St Sophie – perfect for slightly larger groups! This costs an additional £160 per week.
The gite is well furnished and includes a few interesting and antique artefacts! The living area has French doors leading onto the terrace, and is comfortably furnished with a leather sofa bed, coffee table and TV, as well as a welcoming open fireplace.
The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with all the appliances you’re likely to need, in including a fridge, freezer, oven, washing machine and dishwasher. There’s also a large solid wood dining table and chairs for up to six people.
The double bedroom is located up a set of ‘millers’ stairs in the attic. The stairs may take a little getting used to, but the view once you’re up there is great!
There’s a shower room with separate WC.
During the summer, you’ll probably spend most of your time outside, enjoying the beautiful Provencal sunshine. To allow you to do this, the property has a shaded terrace, as well as a private garden. Garden furniture is supplied to allow you to sit back during those long lazy days and enjoy the view. There’s also loads of car parking space.
If you are feeling energetic, the hills around the gite have some great cycling and walking tracks, there are tennis courts available in Pertuis and this area is perfect for climbing and golf.
If you enjoy a rural approach to shopping, there are some great local Paysan Markets. Every day of the week, in a host of villages nearby, local growers gather to sell their produce; Springtime brings fresh strawberries, green and white asparagus, cherries in May and June, with tomatoes olives garlic and courgettes all grown locally and available practically all year round.
The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find lots of charming villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec, and Bonnieux) on the doorstep.
If visiting is your thing, you really are spoilt for choice. From the Roman architecture at Arles, the Palace of Popes at Avignon, and the cultured avenues of Aix en Provence to the local vineyards, the Carmargue National Park and the Regional Park of the Luberon, there really is too much to do in one visit.
The sea is under an hour away, with the beautiful Callanques of Marseille to explore as well as any number of the local fishing ports you can find on the coast.
