Mariners View is a stunning character property, set on Padstow harbour. Step out of the front door and you're right in the heart of this idyllic town. For holiday-makers looking for a retreat set in the heart of old town Padstow this is perfect.
Mariners View briefly comprises family sized kitchen leading through to the living room which boasts stunning views of the harbour through large, traditional windows. A cupboard houses the hoover and other essentials. From the living room a traditional staircase leads up to the first floor with Bedroom 1 (double bed), Bedroom 2 (1 x double and 1 x single bed) complete with wardrobes and separate shower/bathroom. Beautiful harbour views from Bedroom 1.
The single bed has a removable luxury waterproof mattress cover.
Although there is no parking available with this property, the cottage is set approx. 50 feet from the main car parks in Padstow. You can choose to park in the large harbour-side car park in the town or park slightly up the hill in the other car park (about 1-2minutes walk away).
Alternatively you can use the street parking at the top of town along Dennis Road.
The coastline near Padstow is spectacular with miles of sandy beaches, one for every day of the week. Heading north out of Padstow, along the coast path, there are several beautiful sandy beaches within the Camel estuary.
The unspoilt beaches are as nature intended, free of buildings and shops – a perfect getaway. As you round Stepper Point and head South West, the first bay on the Atlantic coast is Trevone which has both a sandy beach and a rocky beach for rock pooling. Harlyn Bay, half a mile west has a fine, half-mile long stretch of sandy beach, perfect for swimming and surfing and backed by dunes, low cliffs and fields.
Mother Ivey’s Bay, on the other side of Cataclews Point, is small and secluded, with a steeply shelving beach. The greens and fairways of Trevose Golf and Country Club stretch back from the sands at Booby’s Bay.
Moving south down the coast the next beach is Constantine Bay.
Treat yourself to a wreck, reef or bottom fishing trip or a fun-for-all-the-family mackerel trip out in the bay. Or try a high-powered speedboat trip or more leisurely cruise aboard the ‘Jubilee Queen’ for a trip along the fabulous coastline. And if dry land is more your scene there’s the National Lobster Hatchery where you can discover the fascinating world of lobsters and their environment. Then there’s the Padstow Town Museum where you can step back in time and discover the history of Padstow through its ‘Obby Oss’, Railway and Lifeboat displays. The museum is open from Easter to the end of October and is run by volunteers. For historic charm, Prideaux Place also makes a worthwhile visit.
There are riding stables in the immediate area catering for novices, experienced riders and families. There are also several outstanding coastal links and parkland courses in the surrounding the area. You can even try your hand at Green's Crazy Golf with its great view of the Harbour. If you fancy a game of tennis there are tennis courts at The Lawns Car Park, Padstow. If you're a keen angler the local coastal waters offer exciting sport to the sea angler. For the more adventurous, regular boat trips operate throughout the summer.
