Large detached villa set in the foothills above the orange groves of Oliva, with miles of safe sandy beaches and surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges. Villa May offers very comfortable accommodation in a prestigious and tranquil location - an ideal place to have a relaxing summer family holiday! Set on two levels, the accommodation is tastefully furnished and offers a large open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining room, large lounge downstairs with sky free-view TV, DVD, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathroom/shower. The large 10m x 5m pool is surrounded by spacious terracing and palm trees, BBQ and dining area, pool changing room with toilet and shower. Large orchard with fruit trees - fresh lemons with your G&T! Known as the White Coast, the La Safor region boasts miles of sandy beaches and the prestigious Oliva Nova 18-hole Golf Course (designed by Seve Ballesteros) a 5min drive. A 10min walk is the internationally known Font Salada which at 26c you can swim all year round - with bar and restaurant.
Oliva and its surroundings offers a huge variety of things to do and places to visit. Villa May overlooks a vast wet land nature reserve. Oliva has an excellent safe sandy beach, patrolled by lifeguards during the summer months. The only PGA approved championship golf course is Oliva Nova which has all the top level facilities with practice green and driving range, restaurant and clubhouse etc. There is an excellent selection of Bars and Restaurants within 5km. There are 2 restaurants within walking distance, Font Salada Hotel (menu del dia 3 course wine & water for 15 euros) and the Font. Oliva is a traditional Spanish town where you can explore the back streets and learn about its rich Roman and Moorish past. Dominating the town on the summit of the Santa Ana mountain is the old castle, an impressive sight when lit up at night. Gandia city and the Port have excellent shopping facilities. For family fun Terra Mitica and Aqualandia theme parks 45 mins drive to Benidorm.

Additional information about rental rates
The above prices are on a weekly basis in UK Pounds sterling. A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure the dates and the balance due 6 weeks prior to your rental date. A Security deposit (damage to the property/lost keys/excessive cleaning etc) of £200 to be paid at time of final payment and will be refunded after your rental once the villa is checked and keys returned. When booking the villa and the deposit has been paid I will confirm by email confirmation of your booking. There are no other charges
PLEASE NOTE THAT DURING THE MONTH OF JULY/AUGUST (HIGH SEASON) WE RENT THE VILLA IN 2 WEEKS BLOCKS THANK YOU.
The villa is cleaned on arrival. Beds are made up. Bath, hand towels, shower mats, tea towels and tea cloths are provided for your use. Please bring your own beach towels. 2 cots and high chair are available.
The swimming pool and garden are serviced regularly.
Please note we only except 2 week bookings - Saturday to Saturday during the high season, July and August. At other times start days are variable - please contact us for availability.

A NEW FULLY FITTED KITCHEN WITH GRANITE WORKTOPS; PROFESSIONAL STYLE 5 BURNER RANGE COOKER, INTEGRATED DISHWASHER AND LARGE FAMILY FRIDGE FREEZER. IN THE POOL ROOM THERE IS A SEPARATE SHOWER ROOM AND TOILET. Stunning!
This fantastic villa and its facilities are well described in the specs and in other reviews, so I won't go over them again. Cooking the superb, fresh local produce in a kitchen that I would love to have in my own home, was a real pleasure, but little can compare to sitting on the terrace with an ice-cold lager, in all that peace and tranquillity, watching the sun glitter off the sea in the distance and glowing over the ever-changing faces of the adjacent mountains. The superb swimming-pool, big enough to make others look like foot-baths, is next to the large BBQ, ideal for fun evenings under the sparkling stars, watching the moon gliding up over the horizon. You will need a car, as it would be a shame to miss out on the incredible scenery throughout the region, and the excellent restaurants in the area. And if you feel the need to keep up with the news or the soaps, the TV has a plethora of English channels available. But the villa is the star. We would not hesitate to stay there again, nor would we hesitate to recommend it to others. Stunning is the word.
Great villa !
Villa May is a large and spacious villa. Very well equipped and clean. lovely large new kitchen, and nice to actually have enough crockery and glasses needed for 10 people! Plenty of supermarkets locally, and beaches. Easy booking process with Maggie, good communication throughout. Good support from neighbours whilst we were there, but only when we asked for it, which was great.
Overall a great villa and holiday, which suited our party of 9 ranging in ages.
Fantastic Family Villa
We have just returned from Villa May and had a wonderful time. Our party consisted of 3 generations (toddlers, parents and aunties and uncle, and grandparents). The villa catered perfectly for our needs and we found it had everything we could have wanted. The pool is fabulous, with terrific views but there are also lovely shady spots for those who like to stay out of the sun.
The diffrerent areas of the house work really well for an extended family/large party as we found that we could either all be together round the table/bbq, or we could find separate places to have a bit of quiet time.
We loved the beaches at Oliva also and there were some great places to visit - Guadalest, Valencia.....
There is a fab restaurant (Font Salada) within walking distance and we went there for the great value 'menu del dia' (15 euro inc wine!) on several occasions.
Thanks also to Maggie for being so accommodating and helpful both before and after our trip. It's so lovely to have someone who really cares that you have a fantastic holiday. Next door Pip was also really great at helping us with a few things like directions etc (and not at all intrusive).

For a Relaxing Holiday .....
If you want a relaxing, comfortable, 'home away from home' holiday experience, you need look no further than Villa May. With panoramic views, luxury swimming pool, sun area and BBQ, you will not want to move away from the Villa. However, if you feel you must, a few short miles away are all the shops, restaurants and beautiful beaches you would wish for. For the culture vultures, a nearby train station will take you to the lovely city of Valencia; mountain roads will take you to Spanish/Moorish villages and towns, ancient castles, monasteries and churches. What more could you want on holiday, well, yes, of course there is sun! For a wonderful stay, go to Villa May!!
VACACIONES INNOLVIDABLES
La primera semana de septiembre, estuvimos en villa may 2 matrimonios con 2 hijos cada uno y quedamos maravillados de la villa.
Es una casa que no le falta ningun detalles, desde la piscina, las barbacoas (que paella mas rica), en la planta baja un salon espectacular y en la planta superior, una cocina que no le falta de nada, un comedor precioso y una terraza con vistas a los naranjos y el mar al fondo que es una gozada. Lo que mas nos gusto fue la tranquilidad de la zona y lo bien cuidada y limpia que esta la casa.
Desde luego que es una casa a la que volveremos si dios quiere el proximo año.

thank you for a lovely holiday in your Villa May! Everything was so nice, clean and we felt at home right away. It is a very beautiful villa, and the pool and barberque is just something we will miss. we had everything we needed and more! It will be very difficult to find a Villa like this again, and we can recommend it for all, who like to have a very big and lovely home to enjoy in there holiday.
Large family group stay in Fab villa
We loved this villa! It was clean, spacious, well-equipped and in a great location - set quietly off the beaten track in a beautiful residential area, with stunning views of the nearby mountains (or volcanoes as my little one thought), yet only 5 minutes drive to a main road from which you could easily reach the lovely beaches, nearby towns, and amenities such as the local hypermarket Carrefour. We could hardly tear ourselves away from the pool!(only to eat most of the time). We were a large group of 4 adults, 2 teens and 3 young children, and there was plenty of room in terms of sleeping and relaxing. Thank you Maggie!We will definitely be returning. Just a word of warning - we arrived late on Sunday when no shops were open and literally had nothing to eat except some noodles and porridge left in the cupboard and a carton of milk cadged from the neighbours!we just about managed but for anyone with toddlers this might be a problem, so come well equipped - buy food and drink at the airport if you arrive on a Sunday.
Family stay in June/July 08
We were a family group with ages from 3 to 88 and we all enjoyed our stay. The house is beautiful, fully equipped and in a lovely location. Beaches in Oliva are superb. Clean with gradual entrance into the sea.Ideal for children.There are nearby cafes,bars and beach shops. Easy free street parking though don't forget cars get hot in the sun.On your way back to the villa you go through Oliva so is easy to buy food etc.More isolated beaches off towards Nova Golf area.
We did beach in the morning and pool in the afternoon.Idyllic!
The only thing to bear in mind is that the pool is on the 3rd level down so don't forget your drinks.Kept us fit though!
We went to Valencia by train from Gandia,(cheap,just under an hour) and visited L'Oceanografic (not cheap but worth it).
We thoroughly recommend this villa.
Oh and the nearby spa is more refreshing than it looks but you may need shoes.

A large villa high on a hillside, with panoramic views over orange groves and farm property towards the coast and sandy beaches around a mile or so distant. The large covered terrace overlooks this scene, and we well remember sitting at the table having al fresco breakfast every morning while taking in this marvellous view. The accomodation is spacious and tastefully furnished, and the kitchen is enormous and equipped with everything one could possibly need. All showers, baths etc were in good order and clean. Linen and towels etc were as required and of good quality and cleanliness. It was almost a holiday in itself to explore in and around the villa and grounds, and to check out the pool and surrounding paving.
There is a bar/restaurant within walking distance, or the town with it's own bars and eateries is just a short drive.
We have no doubt about recommending this property and will no doubt get back there ourselves again before too lon

We had a wonderful time in this villa - in fact, we are already booked to go again! The whole place was spotless, the owners have thought of everything but both sets of (English speaking) neighbours are on hand should anything arise. The views of the sea from the terrace are breathtaking, there are bars and restaurants within walking distance but not close enough to disturb and the bars and shops in the main town are only a short car journey away. Personally, if I owned this villa, I would never rent it out - but mainly because I'd be permanently living there!
