Cracking Good Spot have two properties available - The Hayloft at Rosecare, just inland from Crackington Haven and The Old Stable in the friendly village of Marhamchurch, about a mile and a half inland from Bude.
Both properties have electricity included in the price, with heating via night storage heaters. The Old Stable also has a wood burning stove, making it especially cozy in the winter months.
All the beds have duvets and will be made up as required awaiting guest’s arrival. Personal towels can be provided for a small charge.
Both properties are available all year round and we are happy to offer short breaks out of the main season.
Both only a few minutes’ drive from the sea
Wonderful rugged coastal scenery
Open all year round
Early and late season breaks
Close to pubs and local shops
The Old Stable is in Marhamchurch, a small village about a mile inland from Bude and stands overlooking our peaceful garden. There is a lively pub just two minutes walk away.
The Old Stable has its own private walled patio with hardwood garden furniture and a gated fence, making it secure for young children. In the summer months there is a profusion of flowers in pots and in the raised beds making it the perfect place for al fresco meals. We have a great barbeque which guests are most welcome to use.
We usually leave it on the guest’s patio.
Careful renovation of The Old Stable, keeping the character wherever possible has resulted in an historic yet contemporary living space. The comfortably furnished living room has a wood burning stove for the winter months. The sofa bed is for added flexibility. There is a flat screen television and a DVD player, and board games provided for all the family. A local craftsman built the staircase leading up to a small landing and the two bedrooms.
The kitchen / diner has oak units and a solid oak dining table with rush seated oak chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, microwave and electric cooker and all the usual (and unusual) equipment to make guests stay enjoyable and stress free.
Leading off the kitchen, the old tack room has been converted to provide a utility room with a washer/dryer and a family bathroom
Upstairs the landing leads to the bedrooms, both of which have beamed ceilings.
The double bedroom has been carefully furnished with a mixture of old and new and has an en suite shower room.
The twin bedroom has two hand crafted single beds which can be linked together to make a king sized double bed if required.
Booking for The Old Stable is from Friday to Friday.
We regret no pets and no smoking inside.
The Hayloft
The small well equipped kitchen has solid oak worktops, a built in fan oven with separate hob and extractor hood, a microwave and a fridge with a small freezer compartment.
The main bedroom has a standard double bed and the smaller bedroom has bunk beds. Both bedrooms are provided with duvets and linen. The sofa bed is provided to give greater flexibility. We do not intend more than 4/5 to be accommodated. Bed linen for the sofa bed will be supplied if required.
The large bathroom has a power shower over the bath and a heated towel rail.
The Hayloft has been converted from traditional stone farm buildings with a spectacular view over farmland down to the sea. Situated in the quiet hamlet of Rosecare above Crackington Haven, there are pubs close by and a shop within 1 mile at Wainhouse Corner. At the top of the old slate steps there is a small sitting out area for guests own use overlooking the shared courtyard.
The large airy living room with exposed beams has a television, DVD player and also a sofa bed with the dining area by the window for guests to enjoy the view.
The coastal area is largely National Trust, and the coastal path provides unrivalled views of this spectacular coastline.
