Honfleur lies at the foot of the Cote de Grace hill overlooking the wide waters of the Seine estuary. Bathed in the soft light of the northern sea, it is the most picturesque of ports and has appealed to great painters over the centuries, including Boudin and the Impressionists and remains today a haunt for painters and artists, with its old world charm and atmosphere. Honfleur is just a 20 minute drive from the channel port of Le Havre over the magnificent Pont de Normandie and 50 minutes from Caen. Honfleur is steeped in history and boasts a busy all year round cultural calendar, myriad restaurants, markets, specialist shops, and beach, making it an ideal holiday location. It also serves as an ideal base for exploring the spectacular Normandy coastline with its sandy beaches and the surrounding countryside. Paris is just a two hour train ride away.

I have just returned from my third visit (looking forward to a fourth) to this wonderful apartment in the top of one of the traditional old tall houses which overlook on one side the magnificent harbour and on the other side the lovely old town square with the wooden church. The views are spectacular. The apartment itself is on 2 floors with a bathroom on each floor. It is quite spacious and the living area is very pleasant. There is everything you could need and we have cooked full meals there with no trouble (when we're not eating out in the wonderful selection of restaurants), bed linen is also supplied if required. The property is always very clean and well maintained. Andy the owner is always very helpful and I think this accommodation is an excellent opportunity to stay in a lovely location at a good price. Honfleur itself is a beautiful old town with something for everyone - wonderful Saturday market, walks along the quaysides, park with swimming pool, tennis and playground,museums, art galleries, lovely shops, plenty of restaurants and bars and of course the beach. It is also a good base for seeing Normandy - Rouen, DDay beaches, Bayeux, Deauville, Caen, even Paris (by train from Lisieux) are all easily accessable. At just under 3 hours from Calais it is ideal for either a few days or a longer holiday, I am sure this apartment and location will appeal to most people
Wonderful Apartment in the Heart of Honfleur

My family and I stayed in this lovely apartment for nearly two weeks and had one of our most enjoyable holdiays. It is centrally located in the heart of Honfleur just above the Vieux Basin with panoramic views of the Basin on one side and St. Catherine's church and square on the other. The apartment has all the comforts of home, fully equipped kitchen, and spacious living quarters. It is within walking distance of restaurants, shops, museums and everything that Honfleur has to offer. We would highly recommend this apartment.
What a location
Date of stay: August 2010. We had a wonderful stay in this fantastic apartment, which could not be in a better spot. Overlooking the basin to the front and the square with the old church to the rear! It was great to be right in the middle of Honfleur with all of the shops and restaurants seconds away. The apartment is spacious and was very clean and well-equipped. We will be back next year and would certainly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to sample the delights of Honfleur!
