Joint CEO Sean Collins on BBC Radio 5 Live

Following the hugely successful launch of the world's first homeowner verification scheme, BBC Radio 5 Live wanted to discuss with Sean how and why we protect our holidaymakers.

By pureholidayhomes.com | Published 4th October, 2010

Throughout the summer there has been a significant rise in instances of homeowner identity fraud, as officially recognised by the City of London’s economic crime department on 9th September 2010. pureholidayhomes.com is the world’s only holiday rental portal to officially verify our homeowners, therefore BBC Radio 5 Live wanted to understand the inspiration for our new initiative.

Due to the severity of the issue and in an effort to make our verification process official and independent, pureholidayhomes.com has partnered with leading identity authorisation company GB Group and implemented their URU identification system. This system, unique to the GB Group, cross references the identity of our owners against five different national and international databases, which is more stringent than FSA and online gaming guidelines.

How can you book a holiday home with confidence?
Look out for the badge! Owners who have been through our strict verification process have an ID VERIFIED badge inserted on our search listings page and on the property adverts themselves, indicating the holidaymakers can be reassured when renting their property.
