Prieu is a recently renovated barn for 4 people. It is set on the edge of a country lane, built into the hillside and from its elevated position offers open views across the local countryside.
The interior of the gite is light and airy, with exposed stone walls and beams giving character and charm.
Guests have exclusive use of the 10 x 4meter salt water swimming pool with roman steps and optional pool heating (extra charge). The pool is south facing enjoying sunshine from dawn 'til dusk.
There is only 1 gite at the property. The gite nor the swimming pool are overlooked by the owners.
For those who enjoy walking, you can walk from the door along country lanes or pick up a footpath/bridle path within 6 to 7minutes.
We are very easy to find from the RN21, and far enough away so that you cannot hear the traffic, but close enough to soon be on route to visit other towns and villages.

Monflanquin/Cancon area We are approximately a 15 minute car ride from the beautiful bastide town of Monflanquin, said to be one of the best intact examples of a bastide town. Set on a hilltop, it offers far-reaching views across open countryside, to Chateau Biron in the distance. There are several good restaurants in Monflanquin, mostly around the pretty central square, which hosts a weekly market, full of local produce and of course the famous Agen prunes. The busiest days in Monflanquin's annual calendar are the medieval days - a couple of days in the summer, when the town has a medieval festival, filling the town with exhibitions of falconry, old working methods, people dressed in 'olden days' clothes and so on. It shouldn't be missed if you are in the area! The gite is situated between the villages of Lougratte (approx. 3km) and Cancon (approx. 5km) Lougratte village has a lake where it is possible to hire pedalos or just enjoy a dip and relax on the sandy beach (NB. there is an entrance fee to the lake & its facilities) The historic and picturesque villages of Castillonnes, Villereal, and Issigeac all within a 1/2 hour drive, Bergerac, Pujols, Penne D'Agenais and Sarlat in the Dordogne are a little further. Heavenly
28th August 2010
A fabulous week. We loved the 360degree views from the pool. The pool heating was an absolute treat and meant we could sit and read in the shallow waters, Heavenly!
We so wanted a quiet break, so visits to the morning markets in the local bastide towns followed by lazy afternoons by the pool was just what we wanted.
Relaxation
Sept 2010
The gite has been perfectly converted and is so well equipped and creates exactly the right feel for a relaxing holiday. Added to this is your hospitality, local knowledge and humour. We go home fully refreshed from our week here and looking to return in the not too distant future
Rural Retreat
August 2011. We had an amazing week. The gite and pool are the most well equiped self catering accommodation we have come across. Perfect location for exploring the countryside added with relaxing by the pool.....who could ask for more.
