This stunning apartment is on an elevated site with stunning views of the sea and mountains with its villas dotted here and there and can be seen from every window. There is also a 22sq m terrace fully equipped with Dining table/chairs for 6 people and 2 sunbeds with large umbrella if you decide to take to the shade for the hottest part of the day. As the sun beats down on the terrace all day long, this is a great spot to watch the sun rise as the boats go out to sea or watch them come back in with their catch as the sun sets! This apartment has its own designated parking space too!
Mojacar has much to offer with something for everyone. It has tourist attractions in an unspoilt beautiful part of the coast that retains its unique Spanish character.
The Pueblo is a sugarcube village clinging to a steep hillside with flowerbedecked houses, tiny streeets and fabulous views right down over the plains to the playa. You will, we hope love Mojacar and our apartment as much as our previous guests.
The main square looks across to the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains and is filled with street cafes, bars, boutiques and shops. Take a stroll through the maze of cobbled streets hidden behind the main square and you will find some wonderful restaurants and bars.
The area has many archaeological sites revealing Phoenician, Roman and Carthaginian histories. Visits to the local markets are very popular: Mojacar on Wednesdays, Garrucha on Fridays and Vera on Saturdays.
The local festivals are a sight to behold - Along with the usual Christmas, New Year and Easter festivals - Is a priviledge to see the Moors & Christians annual summer festival held this year on 10th - 12th June and the 'Virgin del Mar' festival to be held 16th July in Garrucha - 5km.
Almeria enjoys around 320 days of sunshine per year. Mojacar is close to the Park Natural which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and well worth a visit.
A Go-Kart track lies about 5 kilometres away.As well as many superb golf courses there is a wide range of activities down by the beach. Walking is also a popular activity outside the main summer months.
In winter it is possible to be sunbathing on the beach in the morning and Skiing in the Sahara Nevada in the afternoon. The historic towns of Granada and Murcia are not too great a distance away.
Almeria Airport is the closest airport to your holiday destination with a drive time of 45 minutes via motorway for most of the journey.
Murcia Airport is the next closest. There are two motorways to choose from - the E15 with drive time of 1.5 hrs or the AP7 - which is a toll road - but with hardly any traffic and a drive time of approx 1 hour.
Alicante Airport is a third option with a drive time of 2 hours via the E15 motorway.
We can arrange for collection from any of these airports and the fee can be paid direct to the driver.
Car hire is an attractive option as there is much to see and do, and hire costs are very reasonable. We use Carjet.com or Economy Car hire.com or Mojacar Car Rentals and will be happy to help with any further advice if required

Many of the local beaches have been awarded blue flag status which is a European quality distinction, Some are totally un-commercialised and others have bar(s) and the all important toilets. The nearest (a blue flag) beach has beautiful sand, with sunbeds and umbrellas for hire. There are also rocky coves with crystal clear water to explore within a short drive.. You can drive to and park near most beaches.
For snorkling we recommend the local beach or better still Crystal beach on the road to Villaricos. Villaricos is a lovel Spanish seaside fishing village with good beaches and restaurants.
35 minutes from Mojacar is Aqua Amarga. The spectacular drive through the mountains following the coastline is worth the trip alone. Aqua Amarga has been mentioned in The Times as having one of the top ten beaches in the world. It is a beautiful beach surrounded by mountains and very quiet, with a few beach side cafes/restaurants.
The semi-desert landscape resembles the American West and in the 60s & 70s many Western movies were filmed here including The Magnificent Seven, A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Three Wild West sets now remain as tourist attractions and offer a fun day out particularly for children or those of us who can remember being thrilled by the likes of Clint Eastwood, Raquel Welch and Charles Bronson. You are able to walk through the old West village, watch a re-enactment, rid in a wagon or organise horse rides through the Desert of Tabernas with a guide.

recommended While a car is not necessary, it is recommended to fully appreciate the area. There is a very reliable bus coach service to take you up and down Mojacar Playa, or to Mojacar Pueblo. The Pueblo is a sugarcube village clinging to a steep hillside with flowerbedecked houses, tiny streeets and fabulous views right down over the plains to the playa.. The nearby towns of Garrucha and Vera for the Waterpark are highly recommended and well worth a visit too! |

Spilling down the foothills of the Sierra Cabrera on the South East coast of Spain is the beautiful resort of Mojacar. Split into two distinct areas approximately two kilometres apart are the village (pueblo) and the beach (playa). The combination of both makes Mojacar undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan area in the region. The Mojacar beach front is some 5km long ranging from fine white sand to the coarser variety. It has a good mix of both busy spots and secluded coves which extend into the distance reaching as far as the edge of the Cabo de Gata National Park. The busier beach areas have been considerably developed to serve the many visitors who return year after year, and are scattered with hotels, apartments, restaurants, cafes, bars, and supermarkets providing accommodation and refreshents for all. A defensive fortress from the 18th century known as the Macenas Tower acts as the gateway separating the main beach area from the beaches reserved for naturalism. Leisure activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling, and for those who enjoy an adrenalin boost, the thrills of ultralite flybys, jet-skis and parachuting are all available on Mojacar beach. The nightlife starts with the most fabulous sunsets covering the village with a pink glow. The candlelit restaurants with background music of Arabic origin mixed with international strains sets the mood to try the many gastronomical delights, several of which come from the sea, but also include stews, savouries and soups, all prepared in true Moorish style. Street squares full of charm host the many open air concerts, shows and exhibitions attracting all age groups and nationalities. The area around Mojacar Playa boasts 17 kilometres of beaches and open coves, numerous golf courses, picturesque towns and villages with white Moorish houses full of tradition, history and charm. Modern development is being built with respect for the local environment. The area is also the most productive and fertile market garden area of the whole continent. The locals are outgoing and hospitable and ready to welcome you warmly. Most speak some English and are very patient with holiday makers trying out their language skills. It is no surprise that this area, known throughout Spain as El Rincon del Embrujo (The Corner of Enchantment) attracts quality tourists from Europe and Northern Spain looking for the real Spain with no cities or high rise developments of other resorts.
