Description

Ash and Sycamore Lodges are situated at The Lon, a family run hill farm, just four miles from the small market town of Rhayader. Both Lodges have been sustainably built using locally sourced timber. Sleeping six people in each Lodge, they offer luxury accommodation within the relaxing and beautiful countryside of Mid Wales.

Ash and Sycamore are great places to relax and unwind and perfect bases from which to explore central Wales. There are lots of wonderful walks, peaceful lanes to cycle and many mountain biking tracks. Nature reserves, pony trekking, and fishing are on the doorstep and the area is a bird watchers’ paradise. Fungi forays or guided mushroom hunts are a local speciality!

Ash and Sycamore lodges each have two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Each lodge sleeps six people comfortably. The two double rooms have patio doors leading onto the decking.

Both Ash and Sycamore have modern bathrooms. Each bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and bath with shower, a shaver point, heated towel rail. In addition each lodge has a separate toilet and washbasin.

All bedrooms have modern furniture and wall lights over the beds bed linen and bath towels provided. Beds will be made up prior to your arrival.Each Lodge has one hairdryer.

Ash and Sycamore both have patio doors from the main living area onto decking. Great for keeping cool and for dining out in the summer.

Car required?	recommended The friendly country market town of Rhayader has a great character and the nearby Elan Valley reservoirs and dams are well worth a visit by car, bike, horseback or by foot. Most Saturdays throughout the summer there will be a local village show, a sheep dog trials or trotting races to experience. The new local Museum and Gallery will show you what makes Rhayader a special place to visit and the Leisure Centre and swimming pool has great all year round activities. Children can visit many attractions including the indoor play barn and the small breeds and owl park. The coastal town of Aberystwyth and the sandy beaches of Ynyslas are an hour's drive away.
Local leisure activities	A little further afield to the West is the coast at Aberystwyth and the beautiful coastal nature reserve of Ynys-Las. The Brecon Beacons are to the South and Snowdonia to the North. All are within a day's trip away. Directions

Directions to the Lôn Lodges

The nearby town of Rhayader lies on the crossroads of the main A470 trunk road (running from north to south Wales) and the A44 (running from the Midlands to Aberystwyth).
From the War Memorial Clock in the centre of Rhayader, take the A44 towards Leominster (East Street) and carry on along the A44 for 3.7 miles. Turn LEFT off the A44 (signposted Abbeycwmhir) just after a small bus shelter on the left. (There is a stone built chapel on the right hand corner of the turning.) Carry on along this lane for 1 mile. When you reach a brick built bungalow on the right called “Sunny View”, the Lodges are in sight on the left hand side of the lane.

Travelling on the A44 from the East (Crossgates)

From the roundabout at Crossgates, take the A44 signposted towards Rhayader. Travel for 4.3 miles, staying on the main A44 past the village of Nantmel. Turn RIGHT, signposted Abbeycwmhir (you will see a stone built chapel on the right hand corner of the turning). Carry on along this lane for 1 mile. When you reach a brick built bungalow on the right called “Sunny View”, the Lodges are in sight on the left hand side of the lane.
