14 Chalet La Bergerie Méribel - Les Allues, is a spacious and fully equipped apartment situated in its own grounds with magnificent mountain views.

The village centre is a 5 minutes stroll away, with its 5 restaurants, bars, ski/mountain bike shop, Tabac, Post Office & boulangerie/general store. The chalet also has a private underground car park, as well as surface parking. There is also a ski and boot locker for the storage of ski equipment. In Winter you can ski directly back to the chalet, and in the Summer, lovely mountain walks lead straight from the apartment.

The apartment features a lounge with TV DVD player and discs, CD player & discs, books and board games plus WiFi broadband internet access. Settee and easy chairs and large balcony with mountain views and a wooden dining table and four chairs, cushions and stools. Phone for local and emergency calls. Rustic style dining area fully equipped to comfortably dine 6-8.

The kitchen fully equipped with 4 ring ceramic hob, oven/grill, large fridge with freezer section, dishwasher, washer/dryer machine, satellite flat screen TV.

The bedrooms consist of a double bedroom with its own balcony, twin bedroom and a full size bunk bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath. Separate WC. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board provided. Private ski/locker and private parking.

The Village:

The medieval village of Les Allues is still the capital of the Méribel valley and the heart of this pretty village is just a lovely 5 minute stroll from the chalet. The lounge balconies have fantastic mountain views of the Vanoise National Park and the Courchevel area. In summer this is filled with masses of wild flowers and is a great place to picnic and sunbathe with views up towards Méribel and Mont Vallon. Marked mountain walks lead straight from the front door. In winter this area is great for tobogganing!

Local leisure activities	Meribel obviously has an abundance of skiing and Méribel-Les Allues is central in Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world with 220 linked lifts and 600kms of pistes. The Méribel valley has 94 miles of pistes, 17 miles of itineraries. 11 green runs, 33 blue, 21 red, 9 black, 2 snowboard fun parks. Les Allues is linked by the Olympé gondola which connects you to the centre of Méribel. Ski home in one decent, from the top of Roc de Fer 2294m taking the pretty blue 'Villages' run. For good skiers the sensational long marked off-piste itinerary, all the way to the chalet door. Alternatively come home from Meribel on the gondola, or take the free ski bus. (runs 0820-midnight). If skiing isn't your thing, there are a host of other activities: Huskie sled riding, snow shoe walking, ice skating, rock climbing, snow biking, paragliding, light aircraft flights, swimming in the indoor pool, pampering in the Spas, shopping, lunches on mountain tops. A walkers pass includes the free ski bus. The mountains really come alive in the summer and offer a huge range of activities to suit all ages. The villages transform, with flowers everywhere and temperatures from 22-32c. with sunny skies and clear, clean air. From the peaks you have magnificent views of the snow capped Mont Blanc. Summer activities include an array of water sports such as, white river rafting, canyoing, canoeing, kayaking and hydrospeed Mountain biking: Meribel has been a French cycle federation labelled site since 1998, with over 100kms of cycle tracks. The Tour de France race always passes nearby or sometimes right through Meribel. Meribel Golf course is less than 10 minutes drive from Meribel-Village. & 15 minutes drive from. Les Allues. This world class 18 hole course has recently been redesigned.. Join the Gourmet Drive from 12th-15th July. Other activities include, tennis, rock climbing, horse riding, hiking (guided if required). Kids Adventure Park, tiny tots play area, fishing in the many lakes, Para gliding & Archery. In Meribel's Olympic centre there is a large swimming pool, rock-climbing wall, bowling alley & ice rink. The studious can even have language lessons. Spend lazy days relaxing on the beach and swimming at nearby Bozel Lake and just 1 hour away is France's prettiest lake at Annecy. Hiking: The area contains nearly 500kms of marked paths & 2700 acres of Alpine grassland, a botanical trail with over 80 species of Alpine Flora & forests with trails suitable for all levels of walker. A picnic rucksack & rug is provided in the apartments, complete with binoculars. There are 4 excellent Spas in Méribel. The new one at the Olympic centre has indoor swimming pool, fitness gym, beauty spa, sauna, Jacuzzis, relaxation rooms and a lovely restaurant overlooking the mountains. The Olympic centre also has a rock climbing wall, ice rink & 10 pin bowling alley. The other 3 spas are in the hotels and include; steam rooms, saunas. Hamman, solarium, massage, whirlpool, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy & fitness rooms. The famous spa town of Brides les Bains is just 15 minutes away, now also famous for it's successful weight loss clinics. The Village: The great thing about Les Allues is that it is a real, thriving community, where the local people live, unlike most soulless purpose built-resorts. It has a good commercial centre with the Valley's Town Hall, beautiful Church and small Chapel, library, ski / sports shop, supermarket and tabac / souvenir shop. For après ski and the evening there is plenty of choice with 5 excellent and renowned restaurants with bars. Les Allues offers a real alternative to the main resort of Méribel Town, for those seeking a less frenetic holiday location. The Olypmé gondola and free ski bus link you to The Three Valleys vast lift network. In the summer Les Allues is glorious. You will be surrounded with mountains full of wild flowers. Walks and mountain bike trails lead right from the chalet door. From the UK:

Eurotunnel or ferries to Calais & Boulogne or Portsmouth to Le Harve. Journey time 9 hours including comfort breaks. All Motorway until the last 15 minutes. Dijon & Beaune are half way, great place for an overnight stop to break the journey. Prices range from about €30 per room for a Formula 1 €80 for an Auberge or why not stay in a beautiful Chateau and spoil yourselves.

From within Continental Europe:

All routes towards Lyon. From Lyon 1hr 45minutes. Or via Geneva, then 2 hours 15 minutes. From Italy and the East via the Mont Blanc or Frejus tunnels.

By Air

From the UK: Chambery 1 hour from Méribel, our nearest airport. Flights with Flybe and/or Jet2 go from Belfast, Southampton, Exeter, Norwich, Manchester, Leeds/Bradford, Newcastle, Birmingham and Globespan direct from Edinburgh.

If you have a car, you can quickly get to different start points for skiing or summer activities such as Mottaret, La Tania or the Courchevel area, Val Thorens. Plus a stunning 4th valley, Orelle, has now been linked. Brides Les Bains Spa town is just 10kms and Lake Annecy about 50 minute drive. The heart of The Vanoise National Park, Pralognan, is a short and stunningly beautiful drive.
