Description
Sitting under a 12th century watchtower and surrounded by fields and woods, the villa enjoys lovely views. On the ground floor are a large fully equipped modern kitchen with two ovens, US style fridge/freezer and seating area, a large sitting room equipped with TV/Video/DVD and Game Cube a dining room seating 14, a study, laundry and entrance hall. On the first floor are three double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a twin and a another double bedroom that share a bathroom. Up a spiral staircase under the eaves on the second floor there is a further double room, twin room and bathroom with restricted headroom.

necessary Sogni dei Santi is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, within easy reach of the mountains & sea. The medieval town of Cingoli, 'Balcony of the Marches', is 15 mins drive away with panoramic views over the hills to the sea. It is the birthplace of one of Italy's Popes, with important churches & a museum. San Severino, 'City of Art', lies in the valley below (10 mins drive), & has shops, museums & a beautiful central piazza. The Frasassi Caves nearby are the longest in Italy, one chamber large enough to hold Milan Cathedral! Macerata is host to the famous open air opera season at the 'Sferisterio' (40mins from the house) which runs Jun-Aug. Throughout the summer there are pageants & palios & food & wine festivals in the local villages. Further afield is Urbino, the world-famous Renaissance town & birthplace of Raphael (1hr 40mins) & within 1.5- 2 hours are four of Italy's most famous theme parks (Mirabilandia, Fabilandia, Le Navi & Italia in Miniatura). |

DIRECTIONS FROM ANCONA AIRPORT TO
‘SOGNI DEI SANTI’, ALIFORNI
Turn right out of the car hire car park and will join a small road, which has a multi-storey car park on the right and a ramp on the left leading to a fly over.
Proceed on the small road, go under the fly over and immediately left back towards the airport. Don’t go under the railway bridge ahead.
At the airport roundabout go almost all the way round and up onto the ramp which leads to the flyover.
Very soon there is a fork in the road take direction ‘Roma/Fabriano’ NOT ‘Ancona/Pescara’.
Continue along this road for about 10 minutes. You will pass a couple of exits.
Take the exit ‘Jesi Ovest/Cingoli’
You will go down a ramp to a roundabout. Follow signs to ‘Cingoli’. Keep on this road and pass through a number of small villages. All the time you will be climbing. (In the village of Mummuiola on the right hand side there is a small supermarket ‘Punto SMA’ which is a good place to get some if it’s open.)
You will go up a long straight steep hill as you approach Cingoli.
(OPTION: When you arrive in Cingoli you can turn right and up the steep hill to the town centre to look at the view out over the hills to the sea. If not follow directions below.)
As you finish the steep hill up to the Cingoli turn off do not turn right to the centre but follow signs to ‘San Severino Marche’ in effect you go straight on.
As you go along the lower road, hugging the city walls, you will go through an avenue of trees, at the end of this bear left (it’s confusing as it looks like the road goes straight on) and pass a park on your left hand side.
The road wiggles through the mountain pass for a couple of miles and then you go through a tunnel.
Just after the tunnel there is a restaurant on the bend ‘Osteria del Forno’. Stop at the car parking area and there is a fantastic view towards the house and Aliforni tower. If the light is good you should be able to see the tower.
Continue on this road for about five minutes or so. You will see a sign for ‘Serralta’ on your left. The sign for ‘Aliforni’ on the right is shortly after it. Watch out – the turning to the right is very narrow, sandwiched between two houses.
Follow this road through a little village and as you climb up the hill you will see the house ahead of you on the left. You will see the tower on your right.
Turn left into the driveway.

You will be greeted at the house by a wonderful local Italian who is on call for any problems that might occur. Many of your questions will be covered in the house notebook. You will be shown how to operate the security cover for the pool. A gardener will come once a week to mow the lawn & carry out general garden maintenance. Additional services available on request: Meet/ Greet and Emergency Assistance in English, Cook and Extra Cleaning, Baby Sitting. The garden is fitted with an automatic irrigation system. Hospital is 10mins away in San Severino
