The Casa do Forno Cottage is the most characteristic of all the accommodations at The Quintassential, a one bedroom rustic duplex cottage tastefully decorated and boasting many original features from the old Quinta (farmhouse).

The Casa do Forno has simple traditional Algarvian style décor, featuring white washed walls, sloping cane ceilings with timber beams and many hand painted wall plates hanging around the cottage, all adding to the ambiance of the real Algarve. The Casa do Forno Cottage is rich in style and character with wonderful Algarvian antique furniture all adding to its magic. This is very much a rustic cottage with modern comforts. Being part of the original farmhouse with its high sloping ceilings, this cottage is always cool in the summer and warm in winter. This cottage is a real quaint oasis for adults only, the ultimate peaceful and tranquil accommodation.

The bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, sloping cane ceilings with wooden beams. The bedroom is decorated in soothing pastel colours of aqua and peach. There is also a free standing fan in the bedroom. Immediately next to the bedroom there is a large alcove area with further storage/shelves and a safe deposit box.

The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a tiled seating area within it, sink with vanity unit under, WC and marble flooring.

The "crows nest" lounge area has a sloping cane ceiling with wooden beams and has spectacular views and a mini Hi-Fi stereo with radio/CD player and MP3 reader (guests to bring own CD’s). There is a comfy leather suite with footstools and a 19-inch LG LCD flatscreen TV with UK free to view Satellite TV channels. There are a selection of puzzles, chess set, playing cards, dominos and a vast selection of English reading books. The Crow’s Nest lounge can be accessed by the original rustic stone stairs. For guests with walking difficulties to be aware of the rustic staircase.

The kitchen dining area has the original bread oven dating back to the 19th century and stone sink from the Quinta and also the original cane ceiling with wooden beams. The rustic kitchen comes fully equipped and comprises of fridge/freezer, combi microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster, coffee filter machine, hand held electric blender and gas hob. From the kitchen dining area there are doors leading on to a completely private south-facing terrace with brick built BBQ, table and chairs and reclining chairs.

There is also a wood burning stove for the cooler winter evenings that really makes this cottage very cosy.

The Casa do Forno Cottage also has its own private garden with your own private sun loungers and parasol which is for the sole use of the guests in the Casa do Forno Cottage and within this garden area there is a further seating area surrounded by an abundance of beautiful flowers, shrubs and many various species of cacti. There is also a large covered terrace with a cane ceiling and wooden beams for al-fresco dining and colourful Morning Glory drapes the exterior. Outside there is also al fresco dining table, chairs, parasol and reclining chairs. From the Casa do Forno Cottage terrace you will experience some of the best sunsets the Algarve has to offer.

During the winter months this cottage provides 24/7 heating in the form of 1 eco wall heater, 1 oil filled radiator and a wood burning stove - this is all included in the winter tariffs from 1st November until 31st March. ... read more »hide »
