'What a wonderful time we had, it was a totally idyllic two weeks.'
'Your house is just beautiful and perfect for our needs. The children could not get enough of the huge garden and pool!'
A haven away from the hustle of daily life! This beautiful 5 bedroom stone house is tucked away in the rolling Lot and Garonne countryside. With exposed stone walls and stylish interior it is the perfect spot for great family holidays. Watch out for us on Alastair Sawday's 'Special Places to Stay'
This restored farmhouse is part of a small enclave of picturesque buildings, including a beautiful restored 'colombage' two bedroom cottage, the owners own restored barn and a traditional tobacco barn.
Set in wonderful gardens extending to six and a half acres, there is privacy and tranquility for all. The large heated pool is tucked into the hillside to take advantage of the beautiful setting.
The views are wonderful - rolling countryside all around, whether looking north to Tombeboeuf or south towards the restored windmill of Coulx on the hill above the house. Wonderful in summer with the fields full of sunflowers!
The house is perfectly positioned just south of the Dordogne, ideal for many holiday activities - from golf at Tombeboeuf or canoeing and boating on the Lot, lovely country walks or even the tree climbing adventure parc. For a more relaxing break enjoy sightseeing amongst the chateaux and bastide villages and take in a little wine tasting!
We are fully equipped for babies and small children - a perfect holiday home for all the family!
With great flights from all over the UK to tie in with our Tuesday changeover - getting here couldn't be easier!
Just south of the Dordogne and set amongst the rolling hills of 'The Larder of France', this is a great spot to spend time. Whether you enjoy the traditionally relaxed lifestyle of local markets and lazy lunches or a more active time canoeing, golfing or sightseeing. Gigan is a great base for all sorts of holidays.
The landscape is that of a beautiful fertile land, noted for the far reaching plum orchards and fields of sunflowers.
The area is bristling with Bastide towns - all different and offering much to interest the tourist. Most notable and within just a short drive are Eymet, Monflanquin, Penne d'Agenais and Pujols.
There are several large towns within reach - interesting in themselves, but also with good ranges of shops. Best to go on market day so you can enjoy the best of both worlds - most notable are Bergerac, Villeneuve and Agen.
There are several fabulous fortified chateaux within very easy reach, including Duras, Bonaquil and Biron - great for trips out and particularly fun when they run various festivals during the summer months.
Tombeboeuf offers everything you need for day to day life, with a boulangerie, butcher, local shop (selling just about everything), pharmacy and good local restaurant. Just outside the village is a great 9 hole golf course, English owned, and club house - a really relaxing way of spending half a day. To the east of the village is a picturesque lake which is a nature reserve - great for an easy 4km walk or fishing (licenses can be bought in the village).
Closer to the house is the restored windmill of Coulx - open to the public twice a week and a great walk along quiet lanes from the house - a really great spot for a picnic with the most amazing three hundred sixty degree views of the region.
Slightly further afield, to the south, is the town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot. This is a traditional bastide town with a great local market, bustling centre and a good selection of shops and cafes.
The river Lot is about 15 minutes drive south and during the summer month’s boats and canoes can be hired at Castelmoron-sur-Lot and further afield on the river Dordogne.
