Description
Plafaisan is in the beautiful Quercy region of France it was built in the early 1800's in local stone with suburb thick walls to keep guests cool in the summer; with a salt water pool and a tiled pool surround of over one hundred eight square meters which incorporates a lovely traditionally built roofed area providing shade for outside eating for ten or more, with fridge, sink and built in barbecue. The accommodation is very flexible and is ideal for two families or a family with grandparents. The wine barn 'Le Chai' is let as a whole entity but within, it offers great flexibility there are two areas of accommodation which can be used either together or independently by closing two double connecting doors which link the areas together. Fantastic location for walking, leisure pursuits, sightseeing, close to Lot River, beautiful villages and markets. Local restaurants, baker and outdoor activities only 5 minutes away and all guests could want in the beautiful medieval City of Cahors only eighteen minutes away.
Le Chai de Plafaisan forms part of a very large courtyard six hundred sqm with the owner’s house, this provides ample parking for many cars and a mega boule court. The floodlit private salt swimming pool is in the old vegetable garden with a grassy area to one side for playing croquet (equipment provided) or whatever guests want, the whole is surrounded by a beautiful old dry stone wall with lockable access for security. Ample sun loungers, chairs and three fixed three meter round parasols ensure ultimate relaxation. A large area with table and chairs and lighting provides the ideal place for Al fresco dining for ten plus poolside. There is also over an acre of grass area which is ideal for playing football. A walk through Plafaisan’s vineyards takes guests to the woodland area where guests may discover the odd summer truffle!! In short everything is geared to making guests stay as easy and relaxing as possible.
A nine hole golf course situated in lovely countryside only thirty five minutes away. It is very friendly for families and beginners. Buggies and golf clubs for hire, there is also a clubhouse and pro shop. Tennis and swimming pool are also available and can be used by non-golfers. There are delicious meals available as well.

Travel
Toulouse and Bergerac are about the same distance from Plafaisan allow 80-90 minutes. Car hire available. Flybe - direct from Birmingham, Southampton, Exeter, Leeds, Manchester, London Gatwick and Edinburgh to Bergerac Ryanair - direct from London Stansted and Liverpool to Bergerac. Easyjet - direct to Toulouse from Bristol and London Gatwick.
By train. The TGV fm Paris stops at Agen, SNCF Paris/Cahors Car hire available at all these locations. Road allow 8-9hrs please request directions
Distances
Douelle is just over 5 minutes away offering tennis courts, canoeing and hang gliding and a riverside beach! An abundance of small villages, including Montcuq with its large swimming lake, are all within a 15/20 minute radius with great markets and good eating. Cahors 18 mins with famous markets, restaurants and great shopping. A fun tree park can be found at Pradines about 15 minutes away and horse riding is available at about the same distance from Plafaisan.
Further details
There are numerous prehistoric caves to visit within easy reach of Plafaisan. Slightly further afield about 1 hour away consider a fun day out visiting Souillac's water park with 7 swimming pools, 3 water slides, go-kart area, paddle boats, tree games and bungees. St Cirq la Popie, one of the most beautiful and famous villages in France is about 50 minutes from Plafaisan.
