The Highland Club at Loch Ness is probably the best location for family holidays and Highland Hideaways anywhere in the Highlands. Situated on the shores of Loch Ness the apartment is just a few yards from the village of Fort Augustus, known locally as the 'Gateway to Loch Ness' as it is situated at the southern end of the lake, so ideal for touring both sides of the loch. It is also ideally situated for visiting Inverness and Fort William, both being within an hour by car from the apartment. The west coast and Isle of Skye, famous for its fantastic sunsets and rugged coastline is also only just over an hour from Fort Augustus.
The Highland Club itself has lots of facilities for families and couples to make a stay enjoyable whatever the weather. The clubroom with free WiFi, a full size snooker table and other table games is a great meeting place for friends and families. Also due for opening in spring 2012 is an eagerly awaited indoor heated swimming pool and spa, which will add even more fun to your holidays. Apart from the indoor facilities there is a tennis court, a cricket pitch, a barbecue area and many other outdoor things to do at the Highland Club, and all facilities are free to use for self catering visitors.

recommended The village of Fort Augustus does have some nice restaurants, bars and limited but adequate grocery shops but for shopaholics Inverness is not to be missed! |

The Highland Club can organise virtually any outdoor activity that you want to participate in. Our Concierge will arrange outdoor activities at short notice for you. The local golf course is only a half mile from The Highland Club. Cruises on Loch Ness can be taken from the village of Fort Augustus just 300 yards from your accommodation. Approved horse riding stables are a short drive up the loch at Drumnadrochit where you can literally ride horse on the shore of Loch Ness.

Relaxation in beautiful settings
We had a great time at Old School 11. The appartment was set up very spacious and with all the facilities you have at home. In the evenings we enjoyed beautiful sunsets while sitting in the living room. The grounds are very well kept; the playground was also great. Hopefully the pool will be ready by next year. We also really enjoyed the food at the Boat House.
We will return!
Peaceful and relaxing
It is a great place to explore the highland from, as well as being in a lovely spot. To be on the shore of Loch Ness is a big plus. There is loads of space in the apartment. There is more room than for four people but only four bed.

Comfortable, spacious and great location
We had stayed in a hotel in Fort augustus but found this accomodation cheaper and as it offered two bedrooms and bathrooms it allowed our 13 year old daughter her own space.
Being within Fort augustus you have all of the villages facilities within 5 minutes walk (maximum)..
After a day out walking/ sightseeing it was great to get back to this apartment and relax.
An outstanding experience
This holiday has been a once in a lifetime experience - everything you could have in the apartment to make it a home from home holiday and I would go back tomorrow if I could.
Fabulous, magic location, perfect holiday
We stayed at Old School 11 for two weeks and had a wonderful time.
The Old School 11 apartment was beyond our expectations. Beautifully finished to a high standard, fully equipped, clean, spacious and very comfortable.
The view of the cloister garden and the mountains in the background are fantastic. The apartment is located in the old part of the abbey which is the most stunning and definitely unique.
We chose the abbey grounds for our wedding ceremony and we have no regrets. The owners of the apartment, staff and the management were wonderful; nothing was too much trouble for them. We had a wonderful time and took plenty of unforgettable memories with us.
The Old School 11 was a perfect choice and we can’t recommend it enough. We’re coming back next year to enjoy the best of the Highlands.
