Description
Marloth Bush Retreat is a tranquil, comfortable, self-catering thatched hide-away, situated on the southern border of the Kruger National Park.
With the demand for accommodation in Kruger becoming greater and more difficult to book when you need it and with the increasing price of this accommodation, we offer a convenient alternative at a very competitive price.
A wide variety of game and about 350 bird species are found around the Retreat in natural mixed thorn bush. The close-up interaction with Africa`s animals is truly thrilling.
The accommodation is surrounded by natural thorn bush and the private waterhole is frequented by many species of game and bird life. In the evening, lesser bush-babies come within 2 metres of guests. African night sounds of lion roaring, hippo grunting and hyena calling, are part of the bush experience. Most days elephants can be seen feeding on the banks of the Crocodile River. Often lion wait here too, watching for prey animals coming down to drink. Leopard are also seen from time to time.
This is a bird-watcher`s paradise. The iconic sound of an African fish-eagle`s call calms even the most stressed soul. For a full list, please enquire. A local Bird Guide booklet is available.
The guest-house accommodates 8 people comfortably in 4 double bedrooms, which are all en-suite. Linen and towels are supplied. Please bring your own swimming towels so that you can make use of the splash pool to cool yourself during the warm days. Two cosy little lounges and wildlife magazines enhance your retreat into the bush.
Access to the area via the N4 brings you to within a short drive from the lodge on a well maintained tarmac road. The remaining distance to the lodge is travelled on well maintained sand roads that can easily be travelled in any motor vehicle.
