Description
This newly built chalet in Leukerbad is in a wonderful location overlooking the town, benefiting from the afternoon sun and also sitting at the bottom of the ski slopes where you can ski-in to the chalet. We are close enough to get to the spas or restaurants in the centre within 10 minutes walk. The chalet is furnished to a luxury standard: most furniture pieces are reclaimed Indonesian teak, the bathrooms are Vileroy & Boch with 'Raindance' showers. We have 2 large terraces, 2 patios and a garden area. On the ground floor there is an 8-person wooden sauna and shower area. The large garage is capable of housing a large people-carrier and includes ski racks and ski-boot warmers. The famous spa attracts year round visitors and is a real bonus at the end of a hard day of winter skiing or summer hiking/cycling. In winter flights now go in and out of Sion airport which is 40 minutes drive. Please contact us for more detail and to answer questions.
Leukerbad combines the year round spa and wellness benefits of being one of Europe's largest natural thermal water sources, with an array of winter and summer activities. In winter, Leukerbad offers both high quality skiing and cross country skiing, while in summer Leukerbad is acclaimed for its hiking and climbing opportunities. In addition the town offers a huge sports complex for climbing, skating, curling, tennis and squash. Best of all, Leukerbad manages to maintain an old-world, authentic charm within a vibrant town that includes many fine restaurants and year round facilities.
Skiing: The chalet is close to the town center and actually next to the bottom of the piste that ends in Leukerbad, hence the chalet is ski-in. There are two ski lifts (currently) in Leukerbad. The main ski lift is less than a 10 minute walk from the chalet, while there are also very frequent bus services if you would rather not walk. The other lift takes you to the Gemmi pass (cross country skiing, mountain walks and sledding). This lift is on the other side of the town next to the nursery slopes. The ski school office is in the town center next to the town square and the luxury spa complex.
