The village of Oroklini (called Voroklini in Greek) is located approximately 20 minutes by car from Larnaca airport and just 5 minutes from the coast and beaches of Dhekelia road. Larnaca town centre is merely 15 minutes away and features an attractive palm lined Promenade.
The villa is located in a serene and residential environment most suitable for families. it enjoys sunshine all day as it is a south facing garden. It is completely free from heavy traffic and noisy nightclubs, although these entertainment spots are close enough for a night out. The villa is located to ensure a tranquil and relaxing environment. Approximately 1.5 km you will find miles and miles of superb sandy beaches steming from Larnaca to Agia Napa and beyond. Agia Napa is a 15 minute drive away. There are many night spots nearby and an abundance of restaurants. A drive along the beach takes you to "Faros" famous for it's lighthouse and nearby "Spiros Beach" where you will find watersports and other beach activities. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and located only 5 kms away are the famous salt lakes, which are the sanctuary of flamingos, swans and other migrating birds.
The village has easy and close access to the Islands main motorway network, which leads to Nicosia in 30-40 minutes and Limassol in 45 minutes.
The village of Oroklini itself is situated on raised ground, meaning that is boasts breathtaking views of the sea and coastline from the British Dhekelia Garrison to the port of Larnaca.
The population consists of around 2000 residents and in recent times it has proved to be extremely popular with foreign residents (particularly British) seeking a tranquil retirement haven, small business base or holiday home.
Over the last few years the village has continued to grow with new luxury holiday or residential homes in addition to the renovation of existing houses especially in the 'older quarter' at the village center.
There are several Blue Flag status sandy beaches close by (a couple of km away), and the hills behind the village feature a mountain backdrop with spacious countryside, which on a clear day offers stunning views of Famagusta area towards the North of Cyprus. In fact the border crossing at the adjacent village of Pyla is a mere 5 minutes drive from Oroklini.
Within the immediate vicinity is a lake (popular with bird watchers) as well as woodlands, nature trails, a chapel dedicated to the prophet Elias and Saint Catherine's Church with its spring of Holy water.
The village features a host of other tourist options such as Donkey rides, Horse riding and Go-Karting. Moreover there are 2 Bakeries (open all hours), 24 hour mini markets, a Shopping center, several mini shops around the village, local Taverns (serving delicious Cypriot Meze), several bars (with LIVE football) and 3 banks.
All in all Oroklini is a great place to reside with all the comforts and facilities, close to the beach, easy access to the motorway, a short drive from Larnaca, 20 minutes from the airport and with friendly villagers.
Kition - One of the most important ancient city- kingdoms with architectural remains dating back to the 13th century BC.
The famous fishing village of Zygi, is a 30 minute drive along the new coastal road where you can eat in one of the many restaurants serving the "catch of the day" or watch the fishermen at work.
Nicosia is only 30 minutes drive, the beach resort of Ayia Napa and Protaras are only 20-30 minutes away.
Activities - for water sports the villa is a short ride to the main tourist beaches of Larnaca where speedboat hire, paragliding, scuba diving facilities and many other activities can be found including boat trips.
Shopping- 10 minutes away from the villa is Larnaca town centre which is excellent for shopping with the bustling activity of a colourful market selling local crafts, leather, fresh produce and souvenirs or the sophisticated shopping centres in the town centre, including traditional Greek restaurants.
Phinikoudes - Larnaca promenade is the place for an evening stroll, with it's many bars, cafes and even KFC and MacDonald's as well as ice cream parlours and seafront restaurants.
