Description

Located in a small village in the heart of Côtes du Rhône area of Provence, the villa is built in a traditional local style with wooden beams and terracotta tiling defining the interiors. Well managed with a local caretaker and a pool man/gardener.

The villa benefits from external eating and entertaining areas useable in the spring and summer months, although the clement weather often permits their use at other times of the year. There is a pool in a fenced off area which will be opened from around late May. The area surrounding the villa is dominated by vineyards and traditional Provençale countryside, with Mont Ventoux and the mountain range of les Dentelles de Montmirail visible and accessible in the distance. The villa is ideally located for country walking, mountain biking, wine tasting and cultural visits to historic centres such as Avignon, Orange, Vaison la Romaine, Mornas, Arles, Nîmes, Aix en Provence, Les Baux, Chateauneuf.

Beaches can be accessed in the area of Marseille and Cassis, to the south. They can be accessed in about 1.5 hours by car from the villa, heading south on the A7 autoroute. You can also go skiing at Mont Ventoux (max altitude 1900m). The minor ski resort benefits from simple downhill runs and cross country skiing capability, snow permitting. It can be accessed within 45 minutes of the villa by car. Marseille airport: approx 1.5 hours by car. Nîmes airport: approx. 1 hour by car. Avignon: (for TGV high-speed train to Paris) approx. 45 mins by car.

The villa has a lovely homely feel, with a traditional interior. Terracotta tiling and large wooden beams define the style throughout the house, and it is attractively furnished and benefits from varied artwork.

The villa has been rented for holidays since 2006, so we have a good track record of experience and our customers have always been very pleased and some have also returned or recommended us to friends. We have a local caretaker who will see to all your needs at the villa and a pool man/gardener takes care of the recreational areas of the villa.

A wonderful villa
Just to say we had a wonderful and relaxing holiday in your villa, which emitted the feeling of being a much loved home. We were pleased to find the place so well cleaned (the villa we rented the week prior wasn't). The pool was extremely inviting in view of the very hot weather and it was well kept. The living room is most attractive but we did not have occasion to use it; we were outside all the time. The view from the pool towards the village is most appealing. Lagarde Pareol is a delightful little village and the view from the back of the church is tremendous. Also it was a delight to have vines growing so close, in the field opposite.

A professionally run holiday home
We contacted the owner on very short notice. He was extremely responsive and flexible to our last minute request and stayed in phone contact with us until we were settled. We found the owner to be very honest and easy to work with. We would recommend his home to others looking for a place to stay in Provence. The location is very peaceful and a great place to unwind and relax, with good proximity to the towns of Provence. Our young daughter especially appreciated the swimming pool!
