Description

Les Coches is in the centre of the Paradiski area with easy access to both La Plagne and Les Arcs pistes. It is excellent for beginners and experienced skiers alike.

Les Coches was developed in the 1980s but not as an impersonal concrete resort. Instead it uses traditional materials of wood and slate. It is within the tree line so looks attractive. All the main facilities are within a small radius of the centre and the resort has a really friendly feel, which is why we have been coming here for seventeen years. Having stayed many times in the residences out of the centre, and got fed up with the trudge from the shops back to the apartment, we chose to buy in a central location.

The apartment is a simple studio which sleeps two people but is right opposite our four persons flat so the two can be booked together to provide accommodation for six people.

The central location is the big draw. We acquired the flat at the start of 2011 and are in the process of adding the luxuries found in other apartments so the rental costs reflect this. We hope that we will be able to build up a loyal clientele who will appreciate the improvements we make and benefit from a loyalty discount in future years.

Located in Rhone, French Alps, Savoie region

Who can fail to be moved when viewing the majesty of the Alps? Summer or winter the scenery inspires you and takes your breath away. From Les Coches guests can see Mont Blanc. At 4810m it is the highest mountain in Western Europe.

In winter the area is renowned for skiing and snowboarding. In the summer the mountains are covered with grass and flowers. The blueberries myrtles grow wild beneath the trees on the mountain side and you can find groups of French families collecting them.

The La Plagne and Les Coches area

Les Coches is in the Paradiski area, boasting four hundred twenty five kilometer of ski runs, one hundred seventy five ski lifts and skiing up to three hundred fifty meter. The ski area combines runs in Les Arcs and La Plagne linked by the Vanoise Express, a stunning cable car spanning one thousand eight hundred meter, three hundred eighty meter above the valley. Les Coches is the closest resort to the Vanoise Express and so is ideal for skiers who want to make the most of the area. - Prices increases for 2012 reflect the fact that we have now had the apartment rewired and are in the process of redecorating.

- As we update the property further and add luxuries the rates will increase to reflect this but we hope to build up a loyal clientele who will be eligible for discounts off subsequent bookings.

- Prices include bed linen, towels and end of stay cleaning, except 'out of season' weeks.

- Prices include heating, electricity and hot water.

- Refundable £100 security deposit.

- Refundable £40 cleaning deposit in addition to breakages deposit if doing own end-of-stay cleaning.

French half term holiday runs from 11-Feb-2012 to 11-Mar-2012. There are 3 school regions and each has a 2-week break, hence the 4 week holiday period.

UK half term is 11-Feb-2012 to 18-Feb-2012.

UK Easter holiday is 31-Mar-2012 to 14-Apr-2012.

French spring holiday starts on 7-Apr-2012 for zone A and finishes on 29-Apr-2012 for zone C.

Car required?	not necessary If you are coming for the skiing then you won't nee a car once you are here but if you fly over you may find it cheaper to hire a car from the airport than getting a transfer. If you come by train you can get a taxi from Bourg-St-Maurice or the navette up from Landry. In the summer a car means you can explore the area more easily.

Directions

CAR
- All auto-route from Calais, approximately 10hrs including stops or split the journey with an overnight stop.

TRAIN
- Eurostar direct to Bourg-St-Maurice during the ski season.
- Eurostar to Paris then TGV via Chambery to Landry or Bourg.
From Bourg you can take a train to Landry which is the station before Bourg in the valley then the navette up to the resort. Alternatively book a taxi from Bourg which will cost €40 - €50 and takes approx 25 minutes.

- Lyon (2.5 hr)
- Geneva (2.5 hr)
Transfer from the airport is easiest and probably cheapest by hiring a car. Or take a train to Landry or Bourg - see above. Private transfers are the most expensive and will probably wipe out any savings from a cheap flight. All routes go via Chambery in the winter.
