From UK
Directions – La Plagne 1800
From Calais it’s about an 8 – 9 hour drive. Follow A26 towards Reims & Troyes, and then follow A5/ A31towards Dijon. Then A6 toward Macon and Lyon and finally A43 to Chambery and then Albertville then pick up directions below
Satellite Navigation
We suggest that you do not follow Sat Nav as this takes you via Paris which can take much longer and in addition it will try to take you over mountain passes that are closed in the winter. However if you do wish to use Sat Nav then the nearest town is Aime which you will need to put into the Sat Nav system. The postcode of Aime is 73210 then follow the signs for La Plagne.
From Geneva Airport
There are two ways of getting to Montalbert either directly on the motorway which takes circa 2 hours or the scenic way past Annecy lake which takes circa 2.5 hours. These times do vary upon the conditions and time of year please allow more time during peak weeks and in the snow.
When collecting the car at Geneva come out of the parking and turn right. Follow the green (Motorway) signs for France and keep following the green signs (this will take you less than 2 minutes) until you get onto the motorway.
From Geneva using the Motorway all the way
Follow initially the directions to Annecy/Chambery (A41). Once at Chambery follow the motorway signs to Albertville which is a right turn off the motorway. Pick up directions below from Albertville. NB This is a toll road
Via the Annecy lakeside route
As above but come off at Annecy North turn off and follow the direction to Annecy Centre then follow the signs to “Le Lac” through Annecy until you actually get to the lake itself. Turn right following the signs to Albertville (you keep the lake on your left hand side). After circa 45 minutes you get to Albertville.
From Lyon Airport
After coming out of the airport simply follow the motorway to Chambery and onwards to Albertville
From Chambery Airport
Follow the signs to Albertville A43
From Grenoble Airport
Follow the A41, and then follow the A43 to Albertville
From Albertville
Take the RN90 marked Haute Tarentaise. As you approach Moutiers you need to be in the left hand lane as the road divides into three at this point, but you are still following the RN90. This should take you circa 30 minutes or less.
Follow the RN90 until you see a sign for Aime (also indicated La Plagne) turn right here and follow the road through Aime. Continue for about 2 km through a small village called Macot. On the other side of Macot you will come to a roundabout. Turn right and continue up the hill for about 10 kilometres passing through several small hamlets. You have reached Plagne 1800 when you pass a restaurant on the right called “Le Loup Blanc”.
Charming spacious chalet with all the mod cons
Crete Cote exceeded our expectations, the chalet is warm and inviting. we found it difficult to venture out skiing as it was so cozy. The three bedrooms accommodated 8 persons adequately, the chalet has all the modern conveniences. The views are to die for. I wish we could spend the whole winter a Crete Cote. The chalet is well place up the mountain which means plenty of snow, it's just five mins drive from La Plagne centre. Ski-in Ski-out is possible if you can manage a red run, a little tricky for boarders as the track is narrow in places. The Loup Blanc is 2 min drive up the hill, what a fantastic restaurant. One extra bonus is that the chalet has a deal with the local ski school and ski hire shop, we received 20% discount on ski hire, the ski school will also pick you up and drop you off excellent service. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this Chalet D5 to anybody looking for a home from home in the French Alps.
Beautiful Chalet with amazing views
Just returned from a lovely holiday at Crete Cote. My family and I had an amazing time. The Chalet was warm and inviting. The views were to die for. There were 6 of us and a baby and there was plenty of room for us all. As there was no stations on the TV we took plenty of DVD's to watch which wasn't a problem. We also took our laptops as there is wifi in the chalet so we could keep up with all news and weather forecasts. The Chalet was always lovely and warm even when we didn't appear to have any heating on!! It is better if you have a car to get around the resort and parking in the various villages even at half term wasn't that bad. We didn't attempt to ski to La Roche as the weather was quite Icy low down but we saw others skiers doing it. The villages are all quite different. If you park at Plagne 1800 car park on the bend opposite Le Loup Blanc, you can catch the free bus to Plagne Centre, and Bellecote. There are also a number of free lifts in each of the resorts if you have learners in your group.
We all had a wonderful time at Crete Cote and Bob and Maureen who liaised with us in Resort were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble.
I would imagine that a summer holiday at Crete Cote would also be a brilliant base for visiting the surrounding villages such as Bourg St Maurice and taking the funicular up to Les Arcs 1600. I can just imagine sitting on the large balcony looking out to Mont Blanc in the distance with a lovely glass of wine in my hand.
A beautiful Chalet.
