Description

The villa has a stunning mountain backdrop and sea views from the upstairs sun terrace and the roof terrace. There are many terraces where you can just sit and relax and savour the 'feel good factor' which you would expect on a Mediterranean holiday.

Why not try a cocktail or two by the poolside, swim, top up your tan, or catch up on your reading? ......after all you are on holiday.

There are many beaches and coves to fish from... and the villa has a stone barbeque to cook your catch on, or you could just go to one of the many supermarkets and cheat !!.

If you don't fancy just lazing by the pool, then use Marine Villa as a base to go sightseeing.

There are 3 Crusader Castles in North Cyprus and 1 Byzantine Castle, There is a beautiful Venetian harbour in Kyrenia, the Salamis Ruins at Iskele and many more places of historical interest, all of which, will keep you more than interested and there are countless beaches from Karsiyaka to the Karpaz.. Don't forget (if you are here at the right time) to go and see the Turtles hatch, there are a couple nests on the beach 300m away and many at Algardi Beach, where there are organized trips.

For the more adventurous, watersports are also well provided for, and there are many diving clubs around, which are only a short drive away.

Locally, there is a lovely fish restaurant by the sea, which is within walking distance (about 300metres) and there is also a very popular restaurant (which has regular entertainment) at the top of the lane, again, within walking distance.

A 5-10 minute drive away will take you to many restaurants and bars offering local Cuisine, Indian, Chinese, Italian, etc; Or you can take a local bus to Kyrenia, which is very inexpensive. (bus stop at the top of the lane)

The local shop is just a stroll away, they supply delicious fresh local bread and ice cold Efes beer, there are several other small supermarkets on the road but the nearest bigger Supermarket is about a 10 minute drive away..

There are many brochures and maps available in the villa and there is an English speaking manager nearby if you require any help.

Whether you want a sightseeing holiday or a truly relaxing holiday Marine Villa gives you that choice.

Karsiyaka sits astride the coastal highway about 10 miles west of Kyrenia below the Western end of the Bespamark mountains. The villa is on the sea-side of Karsiyaka, about 300m from the sea.

There is a quaint square, where the locals' sip Turkish coffee at the cafe and play board games, a butchers, a small village store and a local Cypriot bar are also in the location, Karsiyaka village which can be easily seen from the villa is less than a mile away up in the mountains, the old village dates back many many years and is overlooked by the ruins of a Byzantine Monastry and the focal point of the village is the landmark mosque. There is an an excellent fish restaurant by the sea front which is within easy walking distance.

There are many beaches and bars all along the local coast and it's still possible to find deserted coves and your 'own spot' for picnics etc;. Some of the prime beaches such as Camelot or Escape charge a small fee. Many hotels allow the use of their beaches for a similar fee.

Although Karsiyaka is really a quiet unspoilt village, there a large variety of bars and restaurants in the next village of Lapta (about 3 miles), Alsancak (5 miles), and indeed all the way along the coast road to Kyrenia. Apart from the attractions of the seaside if you travel 10 minutes into the mountains above the village then you will find yourself in a completely different, almost Alpine, world of pine forest, rocky outcrops and goat herds - a paradise for walkers and nature lovers.

There is a magnificent new championship golf course which is about a 30 minute drive.Even if you do not play golf it is worth visiting the '19th' hole just to take in the stunning scenery. Fishing trips can be arranged and there are many places to fish if you prefer. There are several diving schools in the area. Paragliding and snorkelling if you want something a bit different.

Directions

The town is built around the pretty horseshoe shaped harbour along which you’ll find many bars and restaurants and dominating which is the immense Byzantine castle. It sprawls out from the harbour and is home to a number of interesting museums and galleries, as well as being a hub for local tradesmen.

The old town is Kyrenia castle is lit up beautifully at night and adds a stunning focal point to the whole harbour area. It dates back to the late 12th century and is believed to have been built on a former Roman fort. Today it’s an exciting visitor attraction and museum

This fascinating town is situated on the northern coast of Cyprus. Kyrenia is an easy place to while away any time of the day... exploring shops, markets and local cafés in late morning, strolling in the narrow cobbled alleys behind the harbour in the afternoon, or stepping out for a brisk walk along the promenade and sea wall in the evening..

The old carob warehouses which border the harbour have been converted into attractive cafes, restaurants, bars and private residences with the fishing boats and yachts making this the ideal place to while away the hours.Take time out to explore the back streets from the harbour to the mosque and then if you fancy some shopping the main shops are all fairly centrally located with a few more springing up on the main Lapta road in recent years.

You’ll find banks, money exchange offices, souvenir shops, pharmacies, clothes shops, taxis, estate agencies, the odd pub, bar, cafe and restaurant all located in the centre of the town, and if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for just ask one of the many friendly shop keepers for directions.

Bellapais Monastery, St, Hilarion, Salamis, Kantara Castle are all worth a visit, brochures available at the villa.

Karsiyaka is a 20minute drive from Kyrenia in beautiful North Cypruis. The easiest airport to travel to is Ercan but does not always have direct flights. (around a 40 minute transfer to Kyrenia)

* Pegasus airlines fly from Stanstead Airport and have an Istanbul touchdown

*Turkish Airlines and CTA fly from various airports in the UK but you may have to change flights

* Many budget airlines fly to Larnaca from airports throughout the UK (transfer about 1 and a quarter hours to Kyrenia)

* You can fly also to Paphos, which is about a 2 and a half hour transfer.

Car Hire companies are approximately £10-£20 a day depending on model of car and it is more expensive in high season. We can help you with all your arrangements if required.
