Bear left onto A6 and continue for half a mile. Take the first available exit at the roundabout on to A6 (Milnthorpe Road). When you pass the bridge on the right hand side, move into the right lane. Continue into the town centre. At the traffic lights in the centre of town, turn right by the side of the Town Hall. Stay in the left lane. There’s a pedestrian crossing on the corner, then after the next controlled pedestrian crossing, the lane splits in two. Take the right one of the two lanes past another controlled crossing, and at the traffic lights at the junction turn right. Follow this road round to the mini roundabout and bear left. Follow this road out of town past Kentdale Landrover on the left. Approximately 1¼ miles out of town, you will see a signpost which says “Burneside”. Ignore this and take the first unmarked right turning up the steep hill. There is a sign for Dairy Cottage at the bottom of the road. Tarnbank House is the first house on the right hand side, and Dairy Cottage is just behind. There is parking next to the cottage beside the black trellis.
